Madurai Kamaraj University College located at Alagar Koil Road is one of the constituent colleges of Madurai Kamaraj University(MKU). Eligibility criteria

Interested candidates who satisfy the following age criteria and educational qualifications can apply for UG and PG courses at MKU college.

Age

For UG admissions, the age of the candidates should not be more than 21 years as on 1st July 2020. However, an age relaxation of 3 years will be given for SC/ST/BC/ MBC/ DNC candidates and women candidates who are beyond 21 years. For differently abled candidates, an age relaxation of 5 years will be permitted as per the government order.

Educational qualification

Candidates must have passed higher secondary board examination conducted by Tamil Nadu state or any other equivalent examination accepted by Madurai Kamaraj University for admissions into UG courses. For PG admissions, candidates must have completed a UG degree in a respective subject from a recognized university. Here is the expected educational qualification for admissions into the UG and PG courses at MKU college.

  1. B.A Tamil: For admissions into this course, candidates must have studied Tamil as a mandatory subject in +2.
  2. B.A English: Candidates must have studied English in +2
  3. B.Com/B.Com(Computer Application)/B.B.A: For admissions into these UG courses, candidates must have studied commerce and accountancy as a subject in +2.
  4. B.C.A/ B.Sc IT/ B.Sc Maths: Mathematics is the mandatory subject for admissions into these courses.
  5. B.Sc Computer Science/B.Sc Physics: Candidates must have studied mathematics and physics in their higher secondary classes.
  6. B.A. Economics/ B.Sc. Hotel Management and catering Science/ B.Sc. Tourism & Hospitality Management: Candidates who have studied in any group in +2 can apply for admissions into these courses.
  7. M.A Tamil: Candidates who have completed B.A (Tamil) or B.Litt(Tamil) can apply. Also, other degree students who have at least 50% marks in their Part-I Tamil under 10+2+3 pattern are eligible to apply for this course.
  8. M.A English: Candidates who have B.A in English or other major students who have studied English under Part II at the undergraduate level over 4 semesters under 10+2+3 pattern can apply
  9. M.Com (Finance)/M.Com (Computer Application): Candidates who have completed B.Com/ B.Com(CA)/ B.Com(Prof.Acc)/ B.Com(Banking & Ins)/ B.Com(E-Comm) / B.Com(Corp.Sec)/ BBA/ B.Com(Honors) / Any Degree with Accounting, Costing and Banking as Allied / Ancillary under 10+2+3 pattern are eligible for admission into the master's degree in Commerce.
  10. M.B.A/M.C.A/M.A Tourism Management: Candidates who have completed any degree under 10+2+3 education pattern can apply for these courses. For MCA courses, candidates must have studied mathematics as a subject at +2 level
  11. M.Sc Mathematics: B.Sc. Mathematics / Mathematics with Computer Applications under 10+2+3 pattern is the expected educational qualification for admission.
  12. M.Sc IT: The educational qualification for admission into M.Sc IT is B.Sc Computer Science / B.Sc. (I.T) / BCA with a minimum of 50% Marks for SC/ST and 55% Marks for others in Part III under 10+2+3 pattern.




How to apply?

The online application form for UG and PG admissions 2020-2021 are available at the official website of Madurai Kamaraj University College. The cost of application form for UG course is Rs.100/- For the PG courses, the application form fee is Rs.200/-

Eligible candidates who are interested to apply for admissions into the college must read the instructions available on the website and submit the online application form. Before filling the application form, the candidates must register themselves as a new user by filling their details name, date of birth, mobile number and phone number in the 'Fresh Registration' form. After successful registration, candidates can log in using their registration number and date of birth to fill the online application form for UG and PG courses. A separate form has to be submitted to apply for admissions into each course.

While filling the online application form, candidates must upload their recent photograph and other required documents like student signature, X, XII, UG mark statements and community certificate at the space provided in the form. The maximum file size for photo and signature is 50kb and for others the maximum file size is 250kb.

Candidates are requested to follow the application form filling instructions and submit the form carefully without any errors because no corrections can be made under any circumstances after the final submission of the application. Provide correct information in all the fields of the application form. Also, while registering, give the correct email id and mobile number as all the communication regarding the admissions will be done only through those communication channels.



Candidates must pay the prescribed application form fee through the online payment gateway along with the Service/Processing charges & GST, as applicable. Application number will be generated and considered for admission only after successful online payment.

The last date to submit the online application form for UG and PG admissions at Madurai Kamaraj University College is August 14, 2020.

Note: After the submission of the online application form, the university will process the forms and will communicate the further details regarding the procedures of admissions to the shortlisted candidates. The final admissions at the college will be done as per the norms of Madurai Kamaraj University and the Government of Tamil Nadu.
