Keeping this in mind, International Institute of Sports Management (IISM), Mumbai, partnering with the University of Mumbai is offering a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management (BSM). The course specially focuses on two aspects – Management & Coaching.
While management is associated with planning, organizing, execution and also the administrative works, it also equally focuses on the business angles like promotion, finance and laws governing sports. Coaching makes you aware of the aspects of fitness, diet, necessary equipment and technology required for training, etc. Duration and Recognition
The duration of this course is 3 years and the University of Mumbai has recognised this course as a full-time degree course. Eligibility
A 50% aggregate in 10+2 is required for general candidates while for reserved candidates, i.e. candidates of Maharashtra Domicile, a 45% aggregate in 10+2 is required. The selection of candidates to this course is conducted in two stages. Selection Procedure
Candidates need to go through 2 stages to get selected for admission. In Stage1, there is SMAT and Case lets & Overall Performance, in Stage2, there is Panel Interview. SMAT
This is Sports Management Admission Test (SMAT) of 80 marks that comprises of Case lets & Overall Performance
This is an online test of 100 marks and consists of the candidate's academic performance, extra-curricular activities and achievements in sports. In this, candidates are evaluated based on their thought process, situation handling capabilities, capabilities to make a plan and also their awareness of current affairs. Panel Interview
This is of 120 marks. A minimum of 50% marks in Stage1 is required to qualify for this Panel Interview. Final Selection
A candidate has to score 60% on average in both Stage1 and Stage2 to enrol for this course.
If the admission procedure takes place before the declaration of the results of 10+2, the admission is regarded as a provisional and only after submitting the final pass certificate the admission is confirmed. Last date to Register for SMAT
The last date to register for SMAT is 31st August 2020 and SMAT is scheduled on 3rd September 2020.
