Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology B.Tech., M.Tech., Ph.D. online admissions 2020

The Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT), Thanjavur, Tamilnadu has announced admissions open for its B.Tech. and M.Tech. Food Technology courses as well as for its Ph.D. programs for the academic session of 2020-21. Know details of the specialized branches of each course, the fee structure and the application procedure for IIFPT UG, PG and PhD programs.
The Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT), which is under the aegis of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, has issued the admission notification for its undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. programs related to food processing and technology for the academic year 2020.

The B.Tech. (Food Technology) course is a full-time one of four years, over eight semesters. There are totally 75 seats, with seats reserved as per Govt. of India norms.
Eligibility criteria: You should have appeared in JEE (Main)-2020 (Paper-1) and the rank obtained therein will determine the selection criteria.
B.Tech. Fee structure

Students who enroll for the undergraduate B.Tech. program at IIFPT can avail of various scholarships. There is an Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship of Rs.1,000/- p.m. for five students from each batch, provided they score a minimum GPA of 7.5 in the previous semester.
An Institute Free Studentship of Rs.5000/- per semester can be availed of by one student per batch, subject to a minimum GPA of 7.5 in the previous semester.
The Anil Adlakha Award Scholarship Award of Rs.10,000/- will be given to a second-year B.Tech. (Food Technology) student for his/her outstanding performance in the first year of the course.
There is an Institute Notional Prize of Rs.5000/- along with a certificate of merit for each batch from the second to the fourth year of the course, based on ranking in the previous year.IIFPT M.Tech. programs
There are three full time postgraduate M.Tech. courses offered by IIFPT, each of two years' duration over four semesters and having 12 seats each. The courses are-IIFPT M.Tech. eligibility requirements
For all the M.Tech. courses, you should have completed a four-year B.E. or B.Tech. Degree course in the related discipline, such as Food Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Food Processing Technology, Food Technology and Management, etc. (refer to the official website for the full list of acceptable disciplines).
While for SC and ST candidates, it is sufficient to have a qualifying degree, in the case of all other candidates, it is mandatory to have a minimum OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10 or 70% aggregate.
The selection for the 12 seats of each course will be based on merit, as per the marks scored in the Graduate Degree qualifying exam, for which 30% weightage will be given, and scores in the IIFPT entrance exam, for which 70% weightage will be given. The entrance exam will be scheduled online or at the IIFPT Thanjavur main campus.M.Tech. Fee structure

IIFPT offers merit-based scholarships to students who enrol for the M.Tech. courses. The Institute Merit Scholarship of Rs.5000/- per month is given to two eligible students from each of the three M.Tech. courses during the first year of the program, provided the student scores a minimum OGPA of 8.0.
The MoFPI Scholarship of Rs.10,000/- per month is awarded to the top five eligible students from each of the M.Tech. courses for outstanding performance in the first year, subject to a minimum OGPA of 8.0.
Top three GATE-qualified students can avail of a scholarship of Rs.10,000/- per month for each of the M.Tech. courses during the regular study period.
IIFPT Ph.D. programs
There are two Ph.D. fields offered by IIFPT, each of three years' duration over six semesters and having eight seats each. The courses are-IIFPT Ph.D. program eligibility requirements
You should have completed your Degree in a course credit system with a minimum OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10 or 70% aggregate. In the case of SC and ST candidates, this is not required and for them a qualifying degree is sufficient.
Eligibility for Ph.D. (Food Technology) Food Process Engineering: Passed the 4-year Bachelor's degree as well as a two-year M.E. or M.Tech degree in any of the following disciplines - Food Technology/Food Process Engineering /Agricultural and Food Engineering / Food Technology and Management/Food Processing and Preservation Technology/Food Science and Technology/Food Processing Technology/Post Harvest Technology/Agricultural Process Engineering/Food Safety and Quality Assurance/Processing and Food Engineering.
Eligibility for Ph.D. (Food Technology) Food Process Technology: Passed the 4-year Bachelor's degree as well as a two-year M.E. or M.Tech degree in any of the following disciplines - Food Technology/Food Science and Technology/Food Safety and Quality Assurance/Food Science and Nutrition/Food Science and Quality Control/Food Process Engineering/Food Processing Technology/Process and Food Engineering/Food Technology and Management.
Candidates will be selected on basis of merit, with marks in the undergraduate and postgraduate qualifying marks being considered. Scores in the IIFPT online entrance exam and in the online interview will also be given due weightage. Ph.D. fee structure

A student enrolled in a Ph.D. program at IIFPT can avail of the MoFPI Scholarship of Rs.15,000/- per month that is awarded to the top five eligible students from each of the Ph.D. programs for outstanding performance in the first year, subject to a minimum OGPA of 8.0.
An Institute free studentship of Rs.5000/- per month is also available for two eligible students for each of the Ph.D. programs during the first year of the course, subject to a minimum OGPA of 8.0.How to apply
