About Chandigarh University

Chandigarh University (CU), located in the heart of "the City Beautiful- Chandigarh" is known for quality education. CU, a not-for-profit university, was established under the Punjab State Legislature and is recognised by University Grants Commission. CUCET Exam

Chandigarh University conducts an entrance test, namely CUCET for the admission in several under-graduate and post-graduate programmes. The main aim to conduct this exam is to provide transparency and objectivity in the admission process and also a scholarship opportunity to talented students. The CUCET exam helps to identify the talent, remove financial barriers of students by providing financial assistance in the form of scholarship and also to support to get success in their career.

Eligibility Criteria

  • For Undergraduate Programmes: The applicants must have passed or appeared for the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% marks from CBSE or ICSE or PSEB or any other recognised State or National Board.
  • For Post-graduate Programmes: The applicant must have a Graduation degree from a recognized University with no less than 50% marks.

Scholarship Availability

The scholarship is offered for various disciplines such as Agricultural Science, Animation & Film Production & Visual Arts, Architecture Design and Planning, Arts, Biotechnology, Business Management, Commerce, Computing, Design, Engineering, Hotel Management, Journalism & Mass Communication, Legal Studies, Pharma Sciences and Sciences etc. For programmes except for Engineering and Management, CUCET is required if a candidate wants to avail the scholarship.

Education Loan Facility: Education loan facility is also available and meritorious students can apply to get financial assistance for higher education.

Application Process


Eligible and interested candidates can apply for Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) either through online or offline mode. A detailed step-by-step process of applying is as given below:

A. Steps for Applying for CUCET via Online Mode:
  1. First, to register themselves, the candidates must visit the official webpage of CUCET.
  2. In the registration process, the candidates will have to create their profile. If the registration is successful, a confirmation message will be received through SMS or e-mail.
  3. Upon registration, a registration fee of Rs.1000/- (including the fee of digital prospectus) is to be paid.
  4. Now, the candidate can select the CUCET exam date and centre from the available choices.


B. Steps for Applying for CUCET via Offline Mode:
  1. While applying offline, the applicant will have to purchase CUCET Brochure cum application form by paying Rs.1000/- from the university admission offices/ Authorized centres.
  2. The application form contains a 'Unique Number' that has to be filled during the registration at http://cucet.cuchd.in.
  3. In the registration process, the candidates will have to create their profile. If the registration is successful, a confirmation message will be received through SMS or e-mail.
  4. Now, the candidate can select the CUCET exam date and centre from the available choices.

Mode of CUCET Exam: CUCET exam will be conducted in online mode only.

Exam Duration: Duration of the CUCET will be 2 hours or 120 minutes.

Note: The candidates must appear in the CUCET exam on the scheduled date and time at the centre allotted.

Result Declaration

The successful candidates in the CUCET exam will be intimated through E-mail, and the list of successful candidates will also be displayed on the Chandigarh University website. After result declaration, the candidates who will be qualified in CUCET will have to pay 3% of the total fee within 15 days to avail scholarship.
