IBSAT 2020 Aptitude Test for admission to ICFAI Business Schools

About IBSAT

IBSAT or ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test is conducted by ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, a deemed to be University. The entrance test is conducted for admission to management programs at the nine ICFAI Business Schools (IBS) located across the country. The test is an online computer based test (CBT) that has a multiple-choice type format. For MBA admissions for the year 2021, the test is scheduled to be conducted on 26 and 27 December 2020. Registrations are currently open and any eligible candidate can register for the same before the closing date.

  • 2-year PGPM (Post Graduate Program in Management) - offered at IBS Ahmedabad, IBS Bengaluru, IBS Gurgaon, IBS Kolkata, IBS Mumbai and IBS Pune
  • PhD in Management – 4-year Full Time or Part Time program at IBS Hyderabad only


Eligibility criteria

MBA/PGPM:
  • Graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks
  • Candidate should have studied in the English medium in graduation. Those not meeting this criteria will have to appear for TOEFL/IELTS/NELT and submit their score latest by 31 May 2021.
  • Should have completed at least 15 years of education in the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern.
  • Final year applicants too may apply for the course provided they are able to complete their graduation by 31 May 2021 and are able to furnish their mark sheets and degree certificate latest by 01 November 2021.


PhD in Management:
  • Candidate should have scored 50% or more marks in graduation in any discipline. The medium of instruction should have been English, and
  • Should have scored 55% or more marks in a postgraduate program in management (full time) with specialization either in marketing, finance, human resource management or operations from an UGC recognized university, Or
  • Scored 55% or more marks in a postgraduate program in economics, commerce, statistics, mathematics, psychology, sociology, public administration or any other allied discipline. Such candidates will have to undertake the first year courses of the MBA program to continue with their PhD. Or
  • Scored 55% or more marks in professional exams like CA, CWA, CFA or CS.


Selection procedure

Selection of the candidates for the different programs at the nine campuses of ICFAI Business Schools is a multistage process. Qualifying the IBSAT is the first stage. However, those who have a valid GMAT/NMAT by GMAC/CAT score need not to appear for IBSAT. Based on the scores in either of the above tests, the candidates will be called for a group discussion and personal interview at IBS Hyderabad. The candidate's past academic performance and achievements will also be reckoned while finalizing the selections.



How to register for IBSAT

IBSAT is the gateway for admission to an MBA/PGPM or a PhD (available only at IBS Hyderabad) program at one of the ICFAI Business Schools. However, before registering for IBSAT, the candidates will have to check for the eligibility criteria for their chosen program. For checking the same, visit the official website of ICFAI Business School. Also ensure that you have a valid email id, mobile number and address. Among the other things you will require is your degree marksheets, certificates and a scanned copy of your passport size photograph. For registering for IBSAT, you will have to first purchase the IBSAT Bulletin. The bulletin can be purchased online from the IBS website or you may purchase it offline by visiting an IBS marketing branch nearest to you by paying a registration fee of Rs 1800/-. If you order online, you will receive the bulletin through email. the IBSAT Bulletin will have the 'Application Number' and the 'Password' that you will require while filling the online application form. Online payment of registration fee can be effected through credit/debit cards or net banking.

Once you have the application number and password, login to the IBS website by clicking on the tab that says 'Apply to IBS'. As the application page opens up, fill up all the necessary details. Upload your scanned photograph and finally hit the submit button.

IBSAT test pattern

IBSAT is a computer based test of two hours duration. The candidate's ability in quantitative techniques, data adequacy, data interpretation, analytical reasoning, reading comprehension and vocabulary are put to test. The test will have 140 objective type questions and is divided into four sections. The syllabus for the test is the same as in other such MBA entrance tests like CAT, MAT, XAT, etc. However, the difficulty level of the test ranges from easy to moderate. Since the test will be held on two consecutive dates, you will be allotted with any one of the dates.

IBSAT national mock test

IBSAT also provides for a mock test that can be registered and particpated by any eligible candidate. Registration in IBSAT is not essential for appearing for this mock test. The mock test window will remain open from 10 August 2020 to 30 September 2020. Top 50 rankers in this mock test will also stand to win a prize.



Course fee

The course fee varies depending upon the institute. The fee is the highest at IBS Hyderabad, where it costs Rs 7 lakh per annum for the MBA program. At IBS campuses in Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune and Gurgaon, the PGPM program costs around Rs 4 lakh per annum. At IBS Jaipur and IBS Dehradun the costs are lowest at around Rs 2.8 lakh per annum for their MBA programs.
