University of Mumbai BMS-MBA Integrated Program admissions through online MUCMET

The University of Mumbai invites applications for admission to its Integrated Bachelor of Management Studies-Master of Business Administration (BMS-MBA) course for the academic year 2020-21. The course is offered at its sub-campus at Thane and not at the main campus at Kalina. Students interested in getting admission for this course are required to appear for the Mumbai University Common Management Entrance test (MUCMET-2020) to be conducted online and the rank in the All-India merit list of this test will determine the eligible candidates for the course.

University of Mumbai BMS-MBA program eligibility requirements

Educational Qualification

You should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate/Intermediate (10+2) exam or its equivalent certificate from a recognized Board. Additionally, it is necessary to score a minimum of 45% aggregate in this qualifying exam. Students from Arts, Science, Commerce, or any other stream and any discipline are eligible to apply. For students who are applying through the reserved category, 40% aggregate is acceptable.

Age criterion

You should be below 20 years of age as on 21st June 2020. For students who are applying through the reserved category and for PwD candidates, those below 22 years are eligible to apply.

About University of Mumbai BMS-MBA Course

There are 60 seats and 85% of these are reserved for the students domiciled in Maharashtra and who fulfil the eligibility requirements as stated above. The course is a five-year one under the Credit-based Semester and Grading System of the University of Mumbai.



BMS-MBA Course Syllabus and Specializations

The first two semesters of the first year (FYBMS) each has Core Courses, an Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course, and a Skill Enhancement Course, with 20 credits in total for each semester. The next two semesters of the second year (SYBMS) each has Core Courses, an Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course, and a Skill Enhancement Course, again with 20 total credits for each semester.

In the third year (TYBMS), in addition to the Core Courses, in each semester you will also be doing Project Work which has four credits and can be undertaken in an area of the Elective Course as per what you opt for. Totally, with both the core courses and the project work, it is 20 credits for each semester.

The marks in the semester exam should be at least 40 marks out of 100 for declaring that you have passed, which includes a minimum of 10 marks for the internal component and 30 marks for the external component.

BMS-MBA course fee

For each year of the course, the total fee is Rs.50,000/-. In the first year, this includes the admission fee, enrolment fee, and document verification fee in addition to the Tuition fee and other fees, such as for exam fees, student welfare, etc. For the other years, the Tuition fee is higher but does not include the enrolment fee, and document verification fee. The final year's fee has an additional fee of Rs.270/- as the Convocation Fee.

How to apply

Registration has to be done online at https://register-mba.offee.in/. Before doing so, scan and keep ready the required documents, which are as follows-
  1. H.S.C. / Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognized Board.

  2. S.S.C. or its equivalent certificate from a recognized Board.

  3. Caste Certificate, if applying as a reserved category student.

  4. A passport size photo.

  5. Signature.

Note: The document that you upload should not be more than 1MB in size.

The next step in the online process is to pay the entrance test fee online via Internet Banking or with a Debit Card or a Credit Card or a Mobile wallet. The entrance test fee is Rs.500/- and Rs. 250/- for reserved category candidates. Once the payment is made, you will get a User ID and a password and an intimation of the successful completion of the registration process will be sent to you at your email ID.

About MUCMET

The Mumbai University Common Management Entrance test (MUCMET-2020) will be for two hours, having a total of 50 multiple-choice objective type questions with four sections. The paper carries 100 marks, with +2 marks for a correct answer and - 0.5 marks for an incorrect answer.

The four sections of the entrance test are:
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension: This is to gauge your English skills, and will have passages with questions related to it to check your understanding of such aspects like synonyms and antonyms, vocabulary and grammar, etc.

Quantitative Aptitude: This is to test your ability in speed and accuracy to solve Maths problems and make numerical calculations.

Logical/Abstract Reasoning: This is to test your skills in interpreting data through diagrams, graphs, etc.

General Awareness: This is to gauge your general knowledge in various fields, such as business, current affairs, etc.

How the online exam will be conducted

The exam will be conducted online, for which you must download an Android app on your mobile phone. To do this, visit https://offee.online/app/ and register your mobile phone. Make sure that you do this well in advance, prior to 7th September 2020. On this date, a Demo test will be conducted so that you can familiarize yourself with the mobile app for the entrance test. This Demo test is not mandatory, though, and it is fine if you do not wish to do it.

Demo Test (optional): 7th September 2020.
Date of online test: 8th September 2020, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Result of the Online MUCMET-2020: 14th September 2020.
