The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has opened the online registration process for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP) for clerical posts in banks from 2nd September 2020. This article gives all the important details, including vacancies, important dates, how to apply for the exam, and also the scheme of the examination. Read on to know more.
Each year, IBPS conducts examinations for recruitment into various positions in banks all across the country. This year also, the online registration process has started for the clerical level posts from 2nd September onwards. The preliminary exams are stated to be held in December while the mains are to be held in the month of January 2021. In total, there are 1557 vacancies which are divided among various states and various recruiting banks. There are a total of 11 participating banks including Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, etc. For the complete details regarding vacancies and the list of participating banks, please refer to the official advertisement (available as an attachment to this article).
Eligibility
The candidates must have the following qualifications in order to enter this examination:
He/she should be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who entered the country prior to 1962. Persons of Indian origin from some other countries are also allowed.
The minimum age for candidates is 20 and the maximum age is 28. That is, a candidate should be born not earlier than 02-09-1992 and not later than 01-09-2000. There are some relaxations in the upper age limit in case of SCs, STs, OBCs, as well as riot victims, ex-servicemen, etc.
The minimum educational qualification is a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. The candidate should also have computer literacy i.e. he/she should possess a certificate/diploma/degree in computer operation or language or he/she should have studied Computer Studies/Information Technology at the high school level. Ex-servicemen can produce an Army Special Certificate of Education or a corresponding certificate of the other forces. The mark sheets should not be dated later than 23-09-2020.
Further the candidate should have proficiency in the official language of the state/UT for which the candidate is applying. According to the official advertisement, the language proficiency will be tested by the bank in which the candidate will be provisionally posted.
How to apply
Candidates are required to apply online for this exam. Before beginning the registration process, please ensure that you have the following in hand:
Photograph (4.5 cm by 3.5 cm)
Scanned soft copy of your signature
Scanned soft copy of your left thumb impression (Some relaxations are given for those who do not have a left thumb. Please refer to the attached PDF for the same).
Scanned copy of a handwritten declaration specifying that all the information submitted during the online registration is true. The exact text for this is available in the official advertisement. Also, the exact specifications for the scanned signature, photograph, and all other documents are available in the notification attached with this article.
After getting these documents ready, the candidate needs to follow the given steps:
Visit the official website of IBPS i.e. ibps.in and then select the necessary options. You can also directly copy and paste this URL into your browser: https://www.ibps.in/crp-clerical-cadre-x/
After this, click on the option "Click here to Apply Online For CRP - Clerks (CRP-Clerks-X)".
Then another window will open. Here you need to click on the option "Click here for new registration".
After this, the online form will open. After that, it is a straightforward process as you only have to enter your details and upload the necessary documents.
Please fill this form very carefully as no further change in details will be permitted once the final submission is done.
After this, you have to pay for the exam fees. This can be done through debit cards, credit cards, internet banking, IMPS, etc. For SC, ST, PWBD, and EXSM candidates, the fee is Rs175 while for all other candidates, the fee is Rs 850.
Scheme of examination
The exam will be held in two stages – prelims and mains. For the prelims the structure of the exam will be as follows:
English language – 30 questions (30 marks) – 20 minutes

Special provisions with regard to COVID 19 pandemic
Because of the extraordinary situation created by the global coronavirus pandemic, IBPS has decided to follow certain precautions as well to ensure that the exams are held as safely as possible. Wearing a mask is compulsory for all candidates. Candidates will be permitted to carry personal hand sanitizers and also wear gloves inside the exam hall. Social distancing will be maintained inside the exam hall. Also, candidates will need to have the Aarogya Setu app installed on their phone. In case a smartphone is not available, then a signed declaration will have to be filled by the candidate showing their risk factor. In case of candidates will moderate or high risk, entry into the exam hall will not be permitted. In case there is a scribe along with the candidate, he/she will have to go through similar procedures. Further, the body temperature of candidates will be checked at the entry points itself before allowing them entry into the venue.
