National Book Trust (NBT) was set up to encourage the reading of books in regional languages and not only those in English and Hindi. Accordingly, NBT regularly publishes classics, contemporary literature and books on general knowledge in various languages. Foreign language books that are translated into English or a regional language are also part of NBT's wide-ranging catalogue. All books are moderately priced to make them affordable and can be purchased directly through NBT's website or at local stores.
NBT also schedules various activities related to books, including ones exclusively for children. There are professionally organized book events where eminent authors and publishers are invited as speakers. Their book fairs are extremely popular, including the globally reputed international World Book Fair that is held each year in New Delhi. NBT even has its own Book Club.

Days: Only on Saturdays and Sundays.
