ICAR-NAHEP Kritagya Hackathon 2020

About Kritagya

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research and NAHEP have Announced the KRITAGYA (Krishi-Raknik-Gyan) for the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP).KRI-TA-GYA stands for KRI for Krishi or Agriculture, TA for Taknik or Technology and GYA for Gyan or Knowledge. The registrations are open for the hackathon. The main aim of the hackathon is to promote farm mechanization in India.

Details of Kritagya

Name of the Project: National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP).

Name of Organization: Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)I

Group Size: Maximum 04 participants in a group.

Theme: Women friendly with farm machinery and equipment.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates, who wish to participate in the ICAR Kritagya Hackathon 2020, may be any students or faculties or innovator from any university or institution in the country.

The Benefit to the Participants

  • Participants will collaborate with the local start-ups and students of other institutes like IITs and NITs.
  • The participants will get an opportunity to increase their learning capabilities, innovations, and disruptive solutions. 
  • More employment opportunity will be generated.


Screening Categories

The students will be screened in two categories:
  1. Zonal Level
  2. National Level


1. Zonal Level

Three winners will be selected from each zone, who will be eligible to participate in the national level round. Zonal Winners will get appreciation certificate and mentorship supporting experts for national round preparation.

2. National Level

in this round, ten zonal winners will make a technical presentation before the National Level Committee. Three winners will be selected as National Level Winners. National level winners will receive a cash prize and citations with participation certificate. They will also get an opportunity for prototype fabrication of the concept at CIAE, Bhopal. Linkage opportunities with MSMEs will also be explored for technology commercialization.

Prize Details

The candidates from technology institutes can win the following prizes:
  1. First Prize: Rs. 5 lakh
  2.  Second Prize: Rs. 3 Lakh
  3. Third Prize: Rs. 1 lakh 


Registration and Uploading of Concept Note

The candidates willing to participate in ICAR Kritagya Hackathon 2020 will have to visit the official Website of NAHEP Kritagya and read all the instructions and check eligibility. First, the candidates must register themselves on the website: https://nahep.icar.gov.in/Kritagya_Registration.aspx. For registration, the candidate will have to fill name, mobile number, email ID, university details and other details in the mandatory field in the registration form. Here the candidate will have to select any of the below-mentioned problem statement and fill the problem solution in the brief. Further, the candidate will have to prepare a technical presentation of concept note of not more than 10 slides and upload it to the website. Now, create a password and check the complete form carefully before submitting. If everything is fine, then click on the submit button to finally submit the registration form. Now click on the print registration slip and save it for future reference.

  2. Automatic transplanter/seeder for wetland paddy
  3. Automatic weeder for new crops
  4. Robotic harvesting of coconut/oil palm
  5. Selective Harvesting of physiologically matured tree fruits
  6. On-the-go measurement of soil qualities and precision application of fertilizers
  7. Device for contactless determination of biotic stresses to crops
  8. Harvesting of vegetables in multiple picking
  9. Cotton picking for Indian conditions
  10. Crop residue handling, storage and management
  11. Automatic vegetable transplanter
  12. Yield determination without crop cutting or crop harvesting
  13. Real-time detection of plant diseases and simultaneous site-specific application of pesticides
  14. Solar/hybrid power tractor/prime movers for a farm cultivation operation


Presentation

During Registration: At the time of Registration the candidates must upload a presentation of 10 slides in ppt and pdf format which must include:
Problem statement
Problem solution concept 
Team details
Background
Value proposition
Action plan

During the screening round: The candidates will have to make a technical presentation of the solution including animation effects and engineering drawings. The solution presented by the candidates must have commercial applicability.

Selection Process

The selection process will include zonal level screening and national level screening.
In zonal level screening, zonal level evaluation of technical presentation will be done. The technical presentation will be made by the candidates. After zonal evaluation, zonal winners will appear for the national level finale or final presentation before the National Level Committee. And the final selection of national-level winners of the ICAR Kritagya Hackathon 2020 will be done.
