About TNJFU
The Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University(TNJFU) is established to offer professional education and research in fisheries. It is a state-funded university which follows the State Agricultural University (SAU) pattern and academic syllabi. Under this university, a lot of fisheries colleges are operating all over Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Fisheries University and its constituent colleges have necessary learning facilities, laboratories, hostels and other amenities to promote education in fisheries science. To conduct field-level research, the TNJFU has collaboration with various Fisheries Industries, National Universities and International Universities. Currently, admissions to the UG degree programmes on fishery courses at the Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University are open for the academic year 2020. Eligibility criteria
To get admissions at B.F.Sc, B.Tech and B.Voc degree programmes at TNJFU, interested candidates must satisfy the following eligibility conditions.
Nativity
Only candidates belonging to the state of Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply for the UG degree courses offered at TNJFU except for B.F.Sc. (AIEEA allotted seats) and B.Tech. Biotechnology(other states quota).
Candidates who are native of Tamil Nadu but have completed their schooling from class VI to XII in other states of India can also apply. But such candidates must submit the Certificate-I (available in the prospectus) at the time of joining.
Age limit
There is no age limit for SC/ST/SCA candidates. All the other category candidates who desire to apply for B.F.Sc, B.B.A and B.Tech degree programmes offered at the Fisheries University should not have completed 21 years of age as on 01.07.2020. To apply for vocational degree programmes(B.Voc), there is no age limit for all the category students.
Educational qualifications
For admissions to the UG degree programmes offered at TNJFU, candidates should have a pass in higher secondary board examination or any other equivalent examination conducted by a recognized education board with minimum eligible marks as prescribed by the University. It is mandatory that the students must have completed 10+2 education pattern.
For admissions to B.Voc degree programmes, candidates from academic or vocational streams can apply. No minimum percentage of the mark is required for B.Voc admissions, only a pass in the Higher Secondary (HSC) Board examination is enough. The degree holders are also eligible to apply for B.Voc programmes but however only their +2 examination marks will be considered for admission.

Before filling the online application form, the eligible candidates are advised to read the prospectus available in the official website.

After reading the instructions in the prospectus carefully, candidates can open the TNJFU online application form and register their details by clicking "Apply Now". In the registration form, provide name, date of birth and mobile number. After successful registration, candidates can fill the details in the online application form and save the form to make any changes in the future. Application form once submitted cannot be edited. To make changes in the form saved and to submit the form, candidates can log in as a registered applicant using their login id and mobile number. Registered candidates can apply any number of programmes as per eligibility.
Fill all the mandatory fields in the form with correct information and upload the soft copies of recent passport size photo(File format: .PNG File size: not exceeding 150 kb), signature(File format: .PNG File size: not exceeding 100 kb) and other relevant documents(File format: .pdf File size: not exceeding 500 kb) at the appropriate places in the form. Once the form is filled completely, candidates can hit the submit button.
The application form fee should be paid through online payment gateway while submitting the online application form. Mentioned below is the application form fee details
Vocational degree courses
SC/SCA/ST category: Rs. 250/- for each course
Other categories: Rs. 500/- for each course
Other degree courses
SC/SCA/ST category: Rs. 400/- for each course
Other categories: Rs. 800/- for each course
The last date to submit the online application form is 26.10.2020 (5.00 PM).
After successful submission of the application form and online payment of application fee, candidates will get an authentication message containing their application number and login id to their registered mobile number and email ID. The filled-in application form can be downloaded in .pdf format. The downloaded filled-in application need not be sent by post.
Candidates who have not received Application number / Login ID even after successful submission of application may contact the Admission Committee through e-mail/phone (ugadmission@tnjfu.ac.in/ 04365-256430 / 9442601908 between 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. on all working days). For any official correspondence to the University regarding admissions, candidates should only use their Application Number / Login ID.

After processing the submitted application forms, the selection committee of the university will prepare a rank list of the candidates based on the academic scores. The prepared rank list will be published on the official website of the university.
TNJFU admits candidates to the UG degree programmes through online counselling. Online Counselling will be conducted to the selected candidates for all degree programmes. For the special category students (Differently-abled, Sports Category, Ex-serviceman, Children of Freedom Fighter and Fishermen Wards), counselling in person will be conducted.
The counselling for UG admissions at TNJFU will be carried out based on the reservation norms of the Government and the merit scores of the students. After publishing the rank list, the university will release the counselling dates on its official website. Also, the shortlisted candidates will be intimated with the counselling dates through their registered mobile number and email id.
Before attending the online counselling, shortlisted candidates must pay a non-refundable counselling fee of Rs.1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC / SCA / ST categories) through online. Candidates who have not paid the counselling fee will be rejected. During the online counselling session, candidates can select the college and course of their choice. Based on the vacancy available, candidates will be allotted seats.
At the time of joining, candidates must bring their downloaded application form along with the following original certificates and 2 sets of attested copies for verification.
Mere online counselling does not ensure selection/admission or any other rights to the candidates. Any delay in submission of certificates and fee payment will lead to cancellation of the seat. If any information submitted by the applicant is found incorrect or if the committee finds any bogus certificates, then the university has all rights to reject the admission appointment of the candidate and it will initiate criminal action against that particular individual.
