GUBEDCET 2020 - Entrance Test for B.Ed. colleges under Gauhati University

Introduction
Gauhati University (GU) has released the notification for the GU B.Ed. Common Entrance Test (GUBEDCET) 2020. The entrance test will be conducted to select eligible students for B.Ed. courses in GU affiliated colleges across Assam for the session 2020-21. The candidate should have passed at least the bachelor's degree (BA/BSc/BCom or equivalent) or higher from any recognized educational institution. Also, the student should have secured at least 50% marks (for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates the minimum percentage required is 45%). Details of the examination
There will be 100 multiple choice questions in the examination. Each question will have four choices. A correct answer will fetch 4 marks while an incorrect question will lead to the deduction of 1 mark. No mark will be awarded or deducted for unattempted questions. The test will be OMR based. Both the test booklet and the OMR sheet will be in English. The total duration of the exam will be 2 and a half hours. Syllabus

In case there is a tie between two students, the ratio between the positive and negative marks will be calculated and the candidate with the higher ratio will secure the higher rank. Even after applying this, if the tie is not resolved, then the candidate with a lesser number of unanswered questions will secure a better rank. If this is not enough to resolve the tie then the candidate with the higher age will be ranked higher. There will of course be reservation of seats and relaxations for weaker sections according to the existing GU rules. How to apply

The center where the candidate wishes to appear for the examination has to be chosen while filling out the application form itself. Any three of the following centers may be chosen in the order of preference. The center will be assigned based on the feasibility.
