About KSCSTEKerala State Council for Science and Environment (KSCSTE), an autonomous body of the Ministry of Science &Technology, Government of Kerala, was constituted in 1972 as the Science, Technology and Environment Committee (STEC). Later it was renamed as KSCSTE in 2002. KSCSTE is the main and responsible agency for change and development through Science and Technology in Kerala. The KSCSTE promotes and activates programmes in science and technology, plan and promote S &T policies for the State development, facilitates the dissemination of scientific knowledge through workshops and training, establish interactions between academia and industries. KSCSTE provides post-doctoral fellowships in science and Engineering the PhD degree holders with high-quality research publications in reputed journals and provides the opportunity to work in any reputed R&D institution/University departments in India and develop their research skills.
Benefits of Post-Doctoral Fellowship ProgrammesThe candidates who will be selected and pursue the Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) at KSCSTE Kerala will get the financial assistance or monthly scholarship for their research. The scholarship will be provided to the PDF fellow for up to three years. The main aim of these programmes is to motivate PhD scholars to starts further research. It will also help them develop a career as a scientist.
Categories of FellowshipsThere are two types of post-doctoral fellowships:
1. KSCSTE Post-Doctoral Fellowship (KSCSTE PDF) The candidates who hold a degree in PhD in science and engineering will be eligible to apply for the Post-Doctoral Fellowships. Besides, they must possess a PhD degree with high-quality research publications in SCI journals. The Post-Doctoral Fellowship can be utilized to conduct their research in any institution other than the department or institute in India where the candidate has finished his/her PhD work.
Details of FellowshipEmoluments: Post-doctoral fellow will be provided with a monthly Post Doctoral (PD) fellowship of Rs.32,000/- + 10% H.R.A per month. Besides, a contingency grant of Rs.50,000/- will be paid annually to the fellow.
Duration: Duration of fellowship will be a maximum of three years.
2. KSCSTE Special Post Doctoral Fellowship (SPDF)To be eligible for the SPDF, the candidates must possess a PhD in science. They must have research publication in high-quality research SCI journals. The candidates will get an opportunity and encouraged to work in the field of science and technology. The SPDF scheme aims to encourage PhD scholars to carry out further research in a specialised area of science and technology and to develop a career as a scientist. The SPDF can be availed by any researcher in the other than the department or institute in India where the candidate had completed his/her PhD.

Emoluments: Special Post-doctoral Fellow will be provided with a monthly Post Doctoral (PD) fellowship of Rs.35,000/- + 10% H.R.A per month. Besides, a contingency grant of Rs.70,000/- will be paid annually to the fellow. A travel grant of Rs.20,000/- will also be provided to the post-doctoral fellow.
Duration: Duration of the Special Postdoctoral Fellowship will be a maximum of three years.
Application ProcedureThe candidates who wish to apply for the post-doctoral fellowship at KSCSTE must have all the requisite qualification. They must visit the official website of KSCSTE and check the official notification, guidelines and terms and conditions before applying. Candidates should apply for the PDF and SPDF in the prescribed proforma available at the website of KSCSTE in the "Downloads" menu option. The candidates must fill all the required details in the application form and filled-in application along with the relevant documents must be sent to the below-mentioned address by the due date.

Apart from this, the candidates should also download brief profile format and after filling up submit along with the application form. The candidate should mention on the top of the envelope containing application form "Application for KSCSTE Special Post Doctoral Fellowship: 2020-21." The candidate should email the soft copy of the application (in MS word format) and all supporting signed documents (in .pdf format), to the mail ID: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that the application having incomplete information and without relevant documents will be rejected. Further, the applications received after the due date will not be considered.
Important Note: The candidates who want to apply for both PDF and SPDF should submit one application only.

Selection of Post-Doctoral FellowshipsThe selection of PDFs will be done through screening cum selection committee. The committee will review the proposal received. Evaluation of the proposals will be based on the quality, presentation, discussion. Apart from this, details of publications, academic records/recognitions etc. will also be taken into consideration for selection of PDFs.
