How to apply online for Calcutta University admissions 2020 for M.Sc, M.A. and B.Tech P.G. courses

Calcutta University has issued admission notification for the eligible candidates to take admission to various postgraduate courses in the departments of the university as well as in its many affiliated undergraduate colleges under the faculty of Science, Technology, Agriculture & Home Science and Human Rights. Detailed info is mentioned in this article. In addition to the above, the following admission notifications for 2020 have also been published by the university:

Eligibility

The university is asking for applications from the applicants having 3-years B.Sc./ B.A. honors or its equivalent degree from Calcutta University or its autonomous colleges or any other equivalent universities. But the degree of graduation should not be earlier than 2019. Applicants who have appeared in the examination of the final year or semester but still waiting for results may also apply. But point to be noted that the mark sheet must be produced prior to merit list generation.

However, candidates having 3-years honors degree in B.A/ B.Sc./ B.Com./ Bachelor degree in any minimum 4-years professional course/ B.E/ B.Tech./ MBBS/ 4-years B.Sc. (Ag)/ 5-years LLB may apply for the course of M.A. / M.Sc. in Human Rights Course.

Course fees

Admission fee is Rs. 1000/-. Session charge per semester is Rs. 22/-. The library fee per year is Rs. 200/-. The laboratory fee per month is Rs. 100/-. The identity card charge is Rs. 50/-. Fees for the duplicate identity card and course transfer fee, if applicable, will be Rs. 100/- and Rs. 200/- respectively. The tuition fee for all non-financing courses is Rs. 500/- per month. The tuition fee for the self-financed MA/M.Sc. course in Human Rights is Rs. 1750/-. However, the tuition fee for all foreign candidates is $500 or equivalent INR per semester irrespective of courses.

How to apply online

  • Interested candidates willing to register online application for CU admission 2020 to M.Sc, M.A. and B.Tech P.G. courses, have to visit https://www.caluniv.ac.in/
  • Click on "Admission for MSC/BTech-2020"
  • You will be directed to the page of http://caluniv-ucsta.net/pgadm/phpfiles/main.php. Click on "Click here to Register/Login(05.00 p.m. onwards)"
  • A new page will be opened. If you are an existing candidate, log in with application no. / mobile no/ and password. If you are a new candidate, click on the blue link written with "New Applicant? Create a New Account".
  • Fill up the form and click on "Apply".
  • Your user name / application number, password and OTP will be sent to your e-mail.
  • Now go to log-in page and log in with correct credential received through your e-mail.
  • Now put OTP received through your e-mail. OTP will be asked for the first time log in only.
  • You will now be directed to the main application form. Fill it up carefully and submit.
Note: No application fee is required for this year.

  • Candidates must read all informations and instructions given at http://caluniv-ucsta.net/pgadm/phpfiles/main.php carefully.
  • Candidates should think about the numbers of courses and preference of the courses they are going to apply for.
  • Check whether they fulfill the eligibility criteria required for their chosen courses.
  • Candidates must have a valid e-mail id
  • Photocopies all relevant marksheets must be available
  • Soft copy of 35 mm x 35 mm scanned passport size photo along with signature in jpg/jepg format not more than 20 kb each should be kept available

Important dates

  • Online portal for the submission of online application is active since 5:00 p.m. on 02.11.2020
  • Submission of online application will be closed on 10.11.2020
  • Publication date of merit list will be announced shortly
