Being established in the year 2010 under the aegis of the Maharishi Markandeshwar University Trust, The Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Kumarhatti-Solan is recognized by the UGC to award degrees to its students. The university is now looking for applications from the eligible candidates for admission to the Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) programme in following disciplines:
Eligibility criteria
Course duration
The minimum duration of the Ph.D program shall be minimum 3 years and maximum 6 years including course work. Candidates have to do research work for at least 2 years once Research Advisory Committee approves their synopsis. However, the maximum duration is relaxed by 2 years for the women and PwD candidates.Course fees
Candidates selected for the admission to the Ph.D. program should pay Rs. 80,000/- as tuition fee per year which will be counted from the admission date, including other annual charges in advance against which no intimation for the deposit of fees will be forwarded to the students. For the first year, the fee should be paid at the time of admission which can be remitted late up to a maximum of 30 days in subsequent years with a late fee of Rs. 2500/-. The hostel fee will be charged extra for the hostel residents.Admission process
Admission will be based on the merit of an entrance test followed by an interview. Candidates have to obtain minimum 50% marks in the exam which will be relaxed by 5% for the candidates belong to SC/ ST/ PH categories. 70% and 30% weightage will be given to the performance of the entrance test and the interview respectively. However, if an applicant has already been awarded a Teacher fellowship by the UGC or any other regulating council to carry on research to Ph.D program, (s)he will be exempted from the entrance test.Entrance test
Entrance test will be in online mode with multiple choice type questions carrying 1 mark each. The duration of the test will be of 2 hours. Total marks of the examination will be 70 out of which 50% will be from research methodology which is common for all and the rest 50% will be on the concerned subject. The interview will carry 30 marks.How to appear in test
Candidates have to log in at erp.mmusolan.org to appear to the test 15 minutes before the timing of the entrance test. The mobile number of the applicants will be used as the username and their date of birth will be used as their password. For example, if 15th January 1980 is a birthday, the password will be 15011980. Point to be noted that the link of the exam will appear on the online portal after login at the exact scheduled time of the test as such candidates are requested to the page at the scheduled time.How to apply
