How to apply online for admission 2020 to B.A.LL.B. in Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur


Want to take admission to an undergraduate degree course to build a prestigious career? MNLU, Nagpur is going to launch a 5-years UG course of Bachelor of Arts - Bachelor of Legislative Law (Honours in Adjudication and Justicing). Being established by the Government of Maharashtra Act VI of 2014, Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur has decided to launch an undergraduate degree course of B.A.LL.B. (Honours in Adjudication and Justicing) to train the students with critical legal thinking to improve nationwide justicing quality.

Course details

B.A.LL.B. (Honours in Adjudication and Justicing) is a five years undergraduate residential degree course. There will be a total of ten semesters for 5 years, 2 in each year. Total mandatory credits are 210. However, through the choice-based credit system students will be allowed to score more credits from other undergraduate and extra credit courses as offered by the external experts from time to time. Considering six weekly working days, there will be at least 90 and 180 working days in each semester and academic year respectively in addition to the examination days. There will be practical training with regular internships and judicial clerkship in the course structure. The internship will be considered as a mandatory part of the overall evaluation process. Two types of internships will be there in the course - one is with agencies where judicial involvement will be apparent but not direct and another will be in the judicial system like under the Justices of High Courts and Judges of District and other specialized courts.

Total intake capacity for this course is 40. However, the reservation is as follows:
  • Unreserved Seats - 19
  • Scheduled Castes of Maharashtra - 5
  • Scheduled Tribes of Maharashtra - 3
  • De-notified Tribes (A) of Maharashtra - 1
  • Nomadic Tribes (B) of Maharashtra - 1
  • Nomadic Tribes (C) of Maharashtra - 1
  • Nomadic Tribes (D) of Maharashtra - 1
  • Special Backward Class of Maharashtra - 1
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC) of Maharashtra - 1

Eligibility criteria

  1. Candidates should be Higher Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent exam passed 45% marks or its equivalent grade for the candidates belong to Unreserved / OBC / PWD categories which is reserved by 5% for the candidates belong to Reserved Categories
  2. Applicants must have appeared in the CLAT 2020 Exam
  3. Age of aspirants shuld not be more than 20 years as on application date
  4. Indian citizenship is must

Fee structure

One-time fee must be paid at the time of admissions in each year. Candidates from Maharashtra have to pay a tentative fees of Rs. 1,88,750/-, Rs. 1,63,625/-, Rs. 1,72,288/-, Rs. 1,81,817/- and Rs. 1,92,299/- for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th year respectively which will be Rs. 2,15,000/-, Rs. 1,92,500/-, Rs. 2,04,050/-, Rs. 2,16,755/- and Rs. 2,30,730/- respectively for the candidates from other zones.

However, the application fee will be Rs. 1500/- and Rs. 1000/- for the unreserved and reserved candidates respectively.



How to apply

Eligible candidates should apply only through online mode at https://ezapp.ishinfo.com/MNLU21/Register. Following documents should be uploaded during the registration of applications:
  • Marksheet of 10th or equivalent standard
  • Marksheet of 12th or equivalent standard
  • Admit and score card of CLAT
  • Caste certificate and caste validity certificate, if applicable
  • PwD certificate if applicable
  • Domicile certificate for candidates of Maharashtra only

Admission process

200 candidates will be shortlisted based on CLAT 2020 rank at a category wise ratio of 1:5 from the received applications. Shortlisted candidates will be appeared for a Psychometric Test and based on the performance 120 candidates will further be shortlisted at a category wise ratio of 1:5. Shortlisted candidates through Psychometric test will be called for a group discussion and candidates at 1:2 category wise ratio will be again shortlisted. These shortlisted candidates will have to face an interview by a selection panel.

Point to be noted that the shortlisted candidates will appear physically or in-person to the group discussion and personal interview.

Important dates

Above online portal will remain opened till 11:59 p.m. of 19th November 2020 for the registration of online applications. A mail will be sent to all shortlisted candidates through their registered e-mail id to appear in the last week of November 2020 for the psychometric test, group discussion and personal interview.
