This article gives you detailed information of the scholarship including eligibility criteria, online application procedure, its renewal scheme etc.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has published "Merit Scholarship Scheme 2020" inviting online applications from the eligible candidates. There are two scholarship schemes which are as follows:
CBSE merit scholarship scheme 2020 for single girl child for +2 studies
Renewal of online applications of CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for single girl child which were awarded in the year of 2019
Aim of scholarship
There are two goals behind the allocation of the scholarship. One is to honor all those parents who have taken the initiative to promote education among girls and another is to encourage all meritorious girl students. However, the number of scholarships will be varied each year because it shall be awarded only to the eligible candidates based on their merit.
Eligibility criteria
The scholarship is for those girl students who are the only child of their parents
Students must have minimum 60% marks in class X exam conducted by CBSE in the year of 2020
They should continue their study in class XI & XII in a school which is affiliated to CBSE and the tuition fee of the school should not exceed Rs. 1500/- per month. Moreover, the tuition fee in next two years i.e. class XI & XII in such school should not be increased more than 10% of the charged tuition fee
In case of NRI candidates, tuition fee should not be more than Rs. 6,000/- every month
Students must be Indian nationals
Scholarship duration and renewal procedure
The scholarship shall be awarded for a period of one year initially which may be renewed for another one year after successful completion of class XI. Students must score at least 50% marks in aggregate in the final examination of class XI to secure their scholarships. Students have to maintain regularity in their attendance to continue the scholarship. The scholarship shall not be renewed further if it is cancelled for any reason. Pupils need to take prior approval of the board if they want to change their school or course before completion and the decision of the board will be treated as final in such case.
Amount of scholarship
Eligible candidates will be awarded Rs. 500/- every month which will be paid through ECS or NEFT
How to register online application
Go to https://cbseit.in/cbse/2020/sgcx/sgcxForm1.aspx
Enter your roll number and the date of birth as per your class X grade sheet in the respective fields . Click on "Proceed"
Put your details as asked for and submit
Your registration number will be shown. Note it down carefully to upload your necessary documents and further communications
Fill-up the undertaking in prescribed format available in below mentioned link along with your photograph and get attested from the school
Affidavit from the parents on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/- duly attested by the 1st class judicial magistrate or SDM or Executive Magistrate or notary in prescribed format should be prepared
Both the documents as per Sl. No. 4 & 5 should be scanned to prepare PDF file. Size of the file should not exceed 1 MB
Go to https://cbseit.in/cbse/2020/sgcx/sgcxUpload.aspx and upload both the documents
Go to https://cbseit.in/cbse/2020/sgcx/sgcxConfPage.aspx and generate confirmation page. In case applicants are not applied and completed the applications successfully, confirmation page will not be generated. Print the confirmation page as a proof
How to renew online
Go to https://cbseit.in/cbse/2020/sgcx/sgcxForm2.aspx
Put roll number and date of birth as printed on your certificate of class X 2019 in the respective fields. Click on "Proceed"
Furnish all details as asked for including your bank details i.e. bank name, a/c number, 11 digits RTGS / NEFT / IFSC code along with bank address
Sign the print out of confirmation page as mentioned above and make it certified by the Principal of your present school along with signature and stamp
Attach following documents:
An attested copy of class XI marksheet obtained in 2020
A copy of Aadhaar card linked with bank account as provided
A copy of the duly attested bank passbook or cancelled cheque
Above documents should be kept in a sealed envelop supercribed by "Application for CBSE Merit Scholarship for SGC X (Renewal-2019)" and the same should be sent to the Assistant Secretary (Scholarship), CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2 Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi 110 092
Important dates
Submission of online applications must be completed by 10th December 2020
In case of renewal, hard copy of applications should be reached to the above address by 28th December 2020
