15%, 7.5%, 27% and 10% reservation will be there for the candidates belong to Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribe, Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer) and Economically Weaker Section(EWs) respectively for each of the programmes. Additionally, 5% supernumerary seats will be allocated to each of the Persons With Disabilities (PWD), Kashmiri migrants and Widows/Wards of the Armed Forces Employees.
Eligibility
Applicants must be passed in Bachelor's or Master's Degree of at least 3 years' duration or its equivalent from a UGC-recognized university. However, candidates who will complete the final year exam of qualifying degree by 15th June 2021 may also apply for this exam. Candidates who are not able to produce their degree certificate and grade/mark sheet during admission must submit by 30th September 2021. Shortlisted candidates should produce an original certificate and mark sheet at the time of personal interview. Applicants who will appear to the final year exam of the qualifying degree should bring mark sheets of all previous semesters on the date of interview.
However, some additional or specific requirements may be needed for some Master's degree courses which are available to the official notification, link of which is furnished below.
About test
TISSNET is a computer-based test in English medium will be held in 40 different cities/towns across the country conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences for admission in its full-time regular post-graduate degree courses. There will be 100 objective type multiple choice questions of 1 mark each. Out of 100 marks, 30 marks will be from English proficiency and Mathematics & Logical reasoning each. The rest 40 marks will be from General Awareness (GA). There will be no negative marking for the wrong answer. The test will be held for 1 hour and 40 minutes from 2:00 p.m. to 3:40 p.m.
Candidates are allowed to apply for a maximum of three courses out of fifty across any two campuses out of four. They have to mention their preference among the courses applied for in the application form. Based on their preference, the merit list will be prepared.
Selection process
The institute will send the call letters only to the shortlisted candidates of the National Entrance Test based on the marks candidates score in the said test for the second round i.e. TISS-PAT / TISS-MAT.
PAT and MAT stand for Programme Aptitude Test and Management Aptitude Test respectively. MAT is applicable only for those who are applying for MA in Human Resource Management & Labour Relations (HRM&LR) and MA in Organisation Development, Change and Leadership (ODCL) of Mumbai Campus. PAT will be applicable for all the rest courses. Both the tests will be for 45 minutes having a total of 50 marks for individual programs.
OPI stands for Online Personal Interview followed by PAT/MAT. The interview will be held separately for each program applied. OPI carries 100 marks.
30%, 40% and 30% weightage will be given for NET, PAT/MAT and OPI respectively to calculate the final score.
Application fee
Candidates under General category should pay Rs. 1000/- + bank charge as applicable for each course which will be Rs. 500/- for the candidates belong to SC and ST category for registration of the application for TISSNET 2021. However, in case the household income of unemployed SC/ST and OBC(NC) candidates for the financial year 2019-20 is less than Rs. 2.5 lac and 1 lac respectively, Rs. 250/- + bank charge should be paid as a concessional application fee for each course along with all relevant supporting documents. Don't forget to upload the TISS copy of challan if the application fee is paid by cash.

Candidates have to apply online process only. But candidates who are from remote places without any internet and telecommunication facilities may send an application for printed form along with the above-mentioned application fees by speed post to the Assistant Registrar (Academic), Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Deonar Mumbai, Pin - 400088. Visit at https://appln.tiss.edu/register to start online application. Register yourself providing the correct information as asked for. Applicants must have a valid e-mail id as the registration link will be forwarded to the registered e-mail id only. Check your spam box in case you don't receive any mail to your inbox. Upload all relevant documents such as photograph, signature, TISS copy of challan if applicable, caste certificate if applicable etc. Candidates have to download the hall tickets from the below mentioned official website of TISS.
