Currently, the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu has released an official notification for admissions to M.Pharm degree program in the Tamil Nadu Government Medical Colleges and government seats in self-financing paramedical colleges affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University for the academic year 2020. Admissions to M.Pharm degree will be done based on the scores of the candidates in a Common Entrance Exam conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu. Candidates who satisfy the following eligibility conditions can apply for M.Pharm admissions 2020
Nativity
Candidates should be an Indian citizen and a Native of Tamil Nadu to apply for M.Pharm admissions. Tamil Nadu native candidates who have completed B.Pharm in other states must furnish a Nativity certificate in Tamil Nadu issued by the competent authority and along with that should produce a copy of Passport/ Ration Card / Voter's ID / Driving License. If a copy of any supporting document or nativity certificate is not submitted, then the application form will be rejected.
Education qualification
Candidates who wish to apply for M.Pharm admissions must have completed B.Pharm degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University or any other University recognized by the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University or Pharmacy Council of India. Those candidates who have completed the UG degree from any other university must submit an eligibility certificate at the time of admission. If the eligibility certificate is not produced, then the application form will not be considered for admission.
Candidates those who belong to OC, BC, BCM, MBC must have obtained more than 55% marks in all semester of subject marks taken together in B.Pharm degree. For SC, SCA and ST category candidates, the total marks obtained should be above 50%.
Candidates who have already completed a PG degree in any branch of Pharmacy or those who are undergoing a PG degree in any branch of Pharmacy are not eligible to apply for M.Pharm admissions 2020. Also, candidates who have discontinued the course after the announcement of the cut-off date by the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University are not eligible to apply for two years from the date of appearance of the entrance exam.How to apply
Eligible candidates can fill the M.Pharm online application form available at the official website of directorate of medical education. The application form can also be downloaded from the web portal of the Government of Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Department.

The application form fee is Rs 1000/- and it should be paid online through an online payment gateway. Tamil Nadu nativity candidates who belong to SC / SCA / ST category will be exempted from the application fee.
After filling the online application form, candidates should take a print out of their filled-in application and should send it via post or courier to "The Secretary, Selection Committee, No.162, Periyar EVR High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai – 600 010." along with the receipt of application form fee paid through online mode and other necessary enclosures on or before the last date of submission of M.Pharm application form. Applications submitted after the last date and the applications submitted without enclosures will be rejected. The selection committee will not be responsible for the delay in the submission of the application form. In the application form, candidates should attach a self-attested recent identical passport size photograph as per the instructions listed in the prospectus. Remember, the application will be rejected if the photograph is not a recent one or if any of the photograph instructions are violated.

After the submission of the form, the eligible candidates can download the hall ticket by logging into the official website with their application number and password. The exam will be conducted in Chennai on 20.12.2020. Only candidates who have hall ticket will be allowed to write the entrance exam. The center allotted to write the entrance exam will be given in the Hall Ticket. Candidates will not be considered for evaluation if they violate the examination rules and regulations.
The online entrance exam for the M.Pharm degree program will contain questions covering all the subjects from the undergraduate level. The question paper will have 125 multiple-choice questions. Each question will carry one mark and there will be no negative mark for an incorrect answer.

The entrance exam results will be published on the official website of the Tamil Nadu Medical Education by the Secretary of the Selection Committee. The answer key for the exams will not be provided and the candidates who have attended the exam cannot apply for rechecking/ revaluation/ re-totaling of answer sheets. After the declaration of results, the merit list and the counselling schedule will be published on the official website. The merit list will be calculated as per the candidate's score in the online entrance exam and their marks for the experience. Admissions to M.Pharm will be done through online counselling based on the candidate's rank and the reservation norms of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The seats will be equally distributed among the open and service quota in the order of merit. Some seats are also reserved for Orthopaedically Physically Disabled candidates.
During the online counselling process, candidates will have to register their details and lock their choice of preference. The options once submitted cannot be changed later. Candidates who have not registered and selected their option in the first round of counselling will not be allowed to attend the subsequent rounds. Also, candidates who are absent on the date of counselling will not be considered for admission.
Candidates who are attending the M.Pharm online counselling will have to remit a processing fee of Rs.500/- through an online payment gateway such as Debit card, Credit card or Net banking.
Candidates who are selected for admission should submit a declaration form stating that he/she is liable for forfeiture of selection/admission. At the time of joining, original certificates along with their photocopies should be produced in their selected institution. Also, the selected candidates should pay a non-refundable amount of Rs. 5000/- for downloading the allotment order towards Tuition Fee for the Government colleges or self-financing colleges through an online payment gateway.M.Pharm course fee details
The duration of the M.Pharm program is 2 years. The tuition fees for the course in the Government colleges is Rs. 5,000 per annum and Rs. 55,000 per annum in the self-financing colleges. Candidates should pay the special fees and other fees at the time of admission to their respective colleges. Note that the Tuition fee for the academic year 2020 may subject to change.Important dates
