Essay on my favorite subject - social science
In this essay, I am explaining about my favourite subject. It is my favourite subject because we study the relationship between individuals and society as well as the development of society. In this subject, we study society in the context of equality and diversity. We can learn about the culture in various communities and the world. It is understood as an important subject in today's interconnected international communities. When I grow up, I would like to be a social researcher.
There are many subjects taught in school, but Social science is one of my favourite subjects. It is my favourite subject because we study about individuals and society. I am studying this subject from standard 1 onwards. Now I am studying in Class IV. Since Class 1, I used to study this subject with great interest. I was very curious in knowing about the costume, dress and food of every state. So I started to study this subject with enthusiasm. My social science teacher used to teach this subject with great enthusiasm. I always score good marks in this subject. I love to read this subject in my free time as a hobby.
The subjects that we are studying in social science
Social science is the branch of science which deals with human behaviour in its social and cultural aspects. It can be defined as the scientific study of human society and social relationship. This encompasses different subject such as anthropology, economics, political science, criminology, archaeology, sociology and social psychology. As this subject includes different subjects. So, it gives vast knowledge around the world.
Anthropology is the science of human existence. The discipline deals with the integration of different aspects of the social sciences, humanities, and human biology. It generally studies local traditions through their history, literature, music, and arts, with a focus on understanding particular individuals. Psychology is the study of the mind and behaviour based on individual and society. We learn how people behave and think in society. History is the study of past events. We can know the lifestyle of people in the past.
Political science is the study of governance. We can know about the political system through this subject. It includes political economy, political theory and philosophy, civics and comparative politics, the theory of direct democracy, national systems, cross-national political analysis, political development, international relations, foreign policy, international law and so on. In criminology, we study about crime from a social perspective. It is the study of law-making, law-breaking and law enforcing. Sociology is the science of society. We can know about society and social behaviour. This subject focus on culture, organisation and other social institution. It helps in solving a social problem. Moreover, archaeology is also included in social science. All this subject comes under one subject. So, we can gain much knowledge through this subject.Why social science is my favourite subject
Most of the subject has a limited area of knowledge. But, social science is merely subject gives knowledge around the world. In this subject, we study social development as well as social behaviour. We can learn different things from social science such as cultural and social beliefs, religions, cast, nationalities, languages, festivals, clothing, food etc. We can learn about our surroundings and the incident happened in the past. It is an important subject in knowing the moral and social value of society. We can study about modernization also. It helps in knowing about the importance of democracy, freedom and right and living way in society. This subject helps us in being responsible and active in society. we can also study the culture, religion and society. It helps us to solve the practical problem in life. It helps in understanding how to interact with the social world- how to develop networks, increase government accountability and promote democracy. It is a very important subject for community and organization. We can learn how different societies are managed and governed.
It has been an interesting subject as my teacher make different culture related picture which attracts me towards this subject. I have a keen interest in knowing the tribal culture. When I grow up, I want to be a social researcher and study about individual and society.
