The Government Institute of Forensic Science, Nagpur, Maharashtra which operates from the campus of the Institute of Science, has released the admission notification for the academic session 2020-21 for its two PG Diploma courses, namely the Post Graduate Diploma in Digital and Cyber Forensic & Related Law (PGDC) and the Post Graduate Diploma in Forensic Science & Related Law (PGDF). The curriculum has been created by the Higher and Technical Education Department, Govt. of Maharashtra and is updated in keeping with the current requirements of the field of forensics The one-year full-time courses are affiliated to R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur. The course fee is reasonable and there are 40 seats for each of the two courses.

Post Graduate Diploma in Digital and Cyber Forensic & Related Law (PGDC)

Course Syllabus

There are six papers for the PGDC course-
Paper I: Basic of Computer and Internet Security
Paper II: Advance Computer Security Techniques
Paper III: Cyber Crimes and Investigation Procedures
Paper IV: Regulations of Cyberspace
Paper V: Practical Training
Paper VI: Project Work



Eligibility requirements

Students with any of the following minimum qualifications are eligible to apply for admission to the PGDC course-

Marks required in the qualifying exam: at least 45% for candidates applying in the Open category and 40% for reserved category candidates.

PGDC Course fee

The course fee may be subject to change as per the norms of the University and Govt. and must be paid at the time of admission.

For candidates of RTMNU Nagpur: Rs. 6260/- for Open category candidates and Rs. 3510/- for reserved category candidates.

For other university candidates: Rs. 6570/- for Open category candidates and Rs. 3820/- for reserved category candidates.

Post Graduate Diploma in Forensic Science & Related Law (PGDF)

Syllabus

There are six papers for the PGDF course-
Paper I: Basics of Forensic Science & Crime Scene Management
Paper II: Forensic Science and its Application in Crime Investigation
Paper III: Forensic Medicine and the Laws
Paper IV: Recent Advances in Forensic Science and the Laws
Paper V: Practical Training Paper VI: Project Work

Eligibility requirements

You need to have a Bachelor's Degree in any one of these-

Marks required in the qualifying Degree exam: a minimum passing percentage of 45% for open category candidates and a minimum passing percentage of 40% for reserved category candidates.

PGDF Course fee

The course fee may be subject to change as per the norms of the University and Govt. and must be paid at the time of admission.

For candidates of RTMNU Nagpur: Rs. 6260/- for Open category candidates and Rs. 3510/- for reserved category candidates.

For other university candidates: Rs. 6570/- for Open category candidates and Rs. 3820/- for reserved category candidates.



Requirements to pass the courses

You need to score at least 35% marks in each of the above Papers. Practical training is assessed by external and internal examiners. The project work is to be done on a topic that is related to the course and you must submit two copies a month before the start of the final Practical/Lab exam of the sixth semester. The project work has three parts – a Dissertation of 60 marks, a Presentation of 20 marks, and a Viva-voice of 20 marks.

Documents required for the admission process-
  1. Mark sheets from Class 10 onwards
  2. Degree of Graduation and Degree of Postgraduation, if applicable
  3. Passport size photo
  4. Scanned image of signature
  5. College/Transfer Leaving Certificate (TLC)
  6. Aadhar Card. Learn how to get a duplicate Aadhar Card
  7. Voter ID, if available
  8. Relevant Certificates, if applicable, such as Gap certificate, Migration certificate, Caste certificate, Eligibility certificate, etc. and any other relevant document that may be asked for at the time of admission.

It should be noted that if you are seeking admission for the course as a candidate from other than Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, then you will be required to obtain an eligibility certificate from this University.
