NIFT Mumbai Fashion Designing CEP part-time certificate courses online admissions 2020-21

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Navi Mumbai is under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India and has developed as a premier institute offering Diploma, Certificate, online and short-term programs covering various fields of fashion, including design, management and technology. The institute has released the admission notification for the CEP (Continuing Education Programme) for its Certificate courses, including part-time ones, for the academic session 2020-21.

The minimum educational qualification is that you should have passed the Class 12 (10+2) exam. For the E-commerce for Fashion Business course, it is necessary to have basic computer knowledge. If you are appearing for the qualifying exam, such as 12th class/final year/final semester, you can apply to a CEP on a provisional basis. However, in such a case, you must have documentary proof of having passed all the papers in all the previous years/semesters (as relevant). Also, you must submit the final result of the qualifying exam (degree/certificate) as proof of eligibility to the CEP course coordinators/CEP advisors on or before 31st Dec 2020 or before issuing the CEP certificate.
NIFT Mumbai CEP Certificate Courses
Apparel Costing & Fashion Merchandising Management (ACFMM): 6 months, on weekends; 30 seats.
Course modules: assessing the cost of a garment, planning its production, managing retail and export procedures, etc.
Course fee: Rs. 82,600/-
Contemporary Bridal Trousseau Design (CBTD): 6 months, thrice a week; 20 seats.
Course modules: constructing a garment with advanced patterns, applying finishing and unique surface design techniques, etc.
Course fee: Rs. 70,800/-.
Creative Fashion Styling (CFS): 6 months, thrice a week; 25 seats.
Course modules: principles of design, clothing trends, hair and makeup workshop, etc.
Course fee: Rs. 82,600/-.
Creative Pattern Making (CPM): 6 months, twice a week; 20 seats.
Course modules: Creating patterns for gowns, corsets, knitwear, T-shirts, etc.
Course fee: Rs. 70,800/-.
Visual Merchandising (VM): 6 months, twice a week; 30 seats.
Course modules: understanding consumer behaviour, retail displays, etc.
Course fee: Rs. 59,000/-.
Design Development for Indian Ethnic Wear (DDIEW): One year, four days a week; 30 seats.
Course modules: developing design skills and pattern making for ethnic wear, fashion drawing, digital designing, etc.
Course fee: Rs. 1,18,000/-.
Fashion Clothing Technology (FCT): One year five times a week; 30 seats.
Course modules: pattern development, sewing, draping, appreciation of textiles, marketing and planning of production, etc.
Course fee: Rs.1,18,000/-.
Fashion Retail Management (FRM): One year on weekends; 25 seats.
Course modules: fashion marketing, retail buying, merchandising with basics of fabric knowledge.
Course fee: Rs. 1,29,800/-.
Fashion Graphics & Product Modeling (FGPM): One year on weekends; 20 seats.
Course modules: illustration and technical drawing, understanding the components of Indian and Western wear, etc.
Course fee: Rs. 1,18,000/-.
Luxury Product Design (LPD): One year on weekends; 20 seats.
Course modules: principles and techniques of product design, dimensions of jewellery designing, awareness of brands, etc.

Garment Manufacturing & Fashion Merchandising (GMFM): One year thrice a week; 30 seats.
Course modules: textile science, garment machinery and equipment, quality assurance, etc.
Course fee: Rs.1,06,200/.
E-Commerce for Fashion Business (ECFB): This is an online course for 3 months on weekends; 30 seats.
Course modules: setting up an online fashion business, current e-business models, etc.
Course fee: Rs. 41,300/-.
UI/UX Design (UI/UXD): 3 months twice a week; 30 seats.
Course modules: practical, skill-based instruction centered on visual communications.
Course fee: Rs. 41,300/-.Application procedure for NIFT Mumbai CEP Courses
You have to first download the NIFT application form for admission.
The completed form should be submitted only at the NIFT Mumbai Campus via post/courier, with the envelope superscribed as "CE Registration form: 2020-21". This should be sent along with a Demand Draft or details of the online payment, as applicable, and self-attested photocopies of the educational qualification certificates (do not send any original certificates). A passport size photo should be pasted in the area for it on the form. Also, three latest passport size photos should be sent, one for the Identity Card, one for the Resource Center Card and one for NIFT Records.
Registration fee
For courses that are of one year duration: Rs.2150/- + 18%GST. The total fee is Rs.2,537/-.
For courses that are of six months' duration or less than that: Rs.1200/- + 18%GST. The total fee is Rs.1,416/-.
Payment mode: The registration fee can be paid through DD/online net banking /NEFT/ RTGS/IMPS in the NIFT Mumbai bank account. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of "NIFT MUMBAI" payable at Mumbai. Your name, phone/mobile number, e-mail id, and name of the course should be written at the back of the Demand Draft.

The above requirements, namely - (i) Completed registration form; (ii) Self-attested qualification certificates; (iii) DD/proof of online payment; and (iv) Photos - should be scanned and the soft copies sent to the CEP Department via email on ce.mumbai@nift.ac.in. After the screening of the applications, shortlisted candidates have to attend a personal interview, which may be conducted online. If you are shortlisted, you will be informed about it via email/phone call. Through the interview, the interview panel members/the course coordinator will be gauging your skills and aptitude for the course, your orientation towards a specific career-related to the course, your achievements in the academic, co-curricular and other fields, your ability to think creatively, your communication skills, etc. All original certificates will be required to be shown during the interview. Based on the interview, you may get provisional admission and the final selection will be done only after the original certificates are verified by the course coordinator prior to the start of the academic classes of the course.
If you are selected for the course for which you applied, then you must pay the full course fee (refer to the list of courses at the beginning of this article to know the fee for each one), along with the resource center fee. The resource center fee is as follows-
For a CEP course that is of six months' duration or less: Rs.2,500/- + Rs.4,000/- (Rs. 4,000/- is the security deposit which is refundable).
For a CEP course that is of more than six months' duration: Rs.4,000/- + Rs.5,000/- (Rs. 5,000/- is the security deposit which is refundable).Important dates
