About NIBMG
National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) is an autonomous institution of the Government of India at Kalyani, West Bengal. NIBMG is a leading institute of the country engaged in the research on biomedical Genomics and their implications in infectious/chronic disease and cancer research. Institute spread knowledge on human health by the latest genomics technology. Laboratories at NIBMG are equipped with all the facilities required for advanced research like DNA sequencing NGS platforms, Multiplex Elisa/ALPHA-LISA, FACS (cell sorter), low and high-resolution imaging facility, etc. NIBMG also provides research opportunities in computational biology and statistical genomics. The minimal eligibility criteria for accepting students at NIBMG to pursue research leading to a Ph.D. degree are:
Category A
Category BSeat Reservation
There will be a reservation in seats of 15% for the SC category, 7.5% for the ST category, and also 27% for the OBC (non-creamy layer) category. To claim reservation, the candidate should provide proof of certifications from relevant authorities before the interview.Selection process
Selection of the candidates for Ph.D. programs will be based on the interview. For final selection, only short-listed candidates will be called for an interview.
How to apply
The candidates wish to apply for PhD programmes at NIBMG must visit the official website of NIBMG and check the eligibility before applying. The application must be applied online through the official application portal through the web-link: https://apply.nibmg.ac.in/. Please remember that applications submitted via any other mode except online mode will not be accepted. While applying online, the candidates must indicate their category in the online application, whether general or reserved category.
To apply online following step-wise procedure to be followed:
Step 1:Candidate must log in to the website through the link mentioned above and create an account.
Step 2: After registration, login to the account using login credentials and fill-up the form.
Step 3: After filling the form, please click on the "Save Draft & Preview" button.
Step 4: If satisfied with the filled details in the online application, please click on the "Submit" button.
Step 5: In this step, the candidates must save/print the PDF version of the online application form. The same must be carried out at the time of the interview.
Submission Deadline The last date of application submission is December 23, 2020 till 5 PM.
Date of Interview: Interview will be held in January 2021.
