About TNPESU
Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University(TNPESU) was started in the year 2004 to offer exclusive degree programs in Physical Education and Sports. It is India's first State University in Physical Education and Sports. Under this university, 21 affiliated Physical Education colleges and 4 Yoga colleges are operating in Tamil Nadu. All the TNPESU affiliated colleges work as per the norms of the University and provide quality education to the students of Tamil Nadu. The ultimate aim of TNPESU is to promote and develop Physical Education and Sports through innovative teaching, coaching, and outreach activities. The university also conducts a lot of research activities and offers doctorate degree programs in Physical Education and Sports. The university has 5 academic departments for Physical Education and Sports and apart from the regular degree programs, it also offers Physical Education and its allied courses through distance education mode.
Currently, distance education admissions at TNPESU for September/October 2020-2021 academic session is open. Candidates who are interested to join any degree program through distance education must satisfy the eligibility conditions of the University. TNPESU conducts distance education programs at 25 Learners Support Centers(LSC) in Tamil Nadu. School of Distance Education, TNPESU offers the following correspondence courses in Physical Education and Sports. All the courses are approved by the University Grants Commission(UGC)/ Distance Education Bureau(DEB).
To apply for TNPESU Distance Education degree courses, candidates must have an eligible education qualification as mentioned below
For B.Sc Yoga admission, candidates should have completed 10+2 education from a recognized education board
For M.Sc Yoga admission, candidates should have completed 10+2+3 education pattern. Graduates who have completed B.Sc Yoga or any other 3-year UG degree program from a recognized University are eligible to apply
Any graduate in Psychology who have completed their education in 10+2+3 pattern can apply for admissions to P.G Diploma in Counselling.
To apply for admissions to all the PG Diploma programs, candidates should have completed their class 10 and class 12 examination from a recognized education board and any graduate degree from a recognized Indian University.(10+2+3 education pattern).
Candidates who have completed any graduate degree and also those who have completed any degree in paramedical courses, B.Sc., Phy., Edn., B.P.Ed, M.P.Ed, B.P.E, B.Sc, M.Sc can apply for admissions to P.G Diploma in Exercise Therapy.
For admissions to PG Diploma in Onfield Sports Injury Management, candidates should have completed B.P.T or M.P.T with 50% aggregate marks.
Any graduate who hold a Black belt above II Dan are eligible to apply for admissions to PG Diploma in Karate.
Candidates who are interested to apply for PG Diploma in Yoga Therapy, Varma and Herbal Science or PG Diploma in Yoga Therapy should have completed any degree with yoga or any degree with diploma or PG Diploma in Yoga or B.P.T/M.P.T/ M.B.B.S/ B.D.S/ B.N.Y.S/B.H.M.S/ B.A.M.S/ B.U.M.S or any degree in Nursing.
To apply for admissions to diploma degree programs, candidates should have completed their 10+2 education or any 2 years ITI/Diploma programs.
For admissions to Diploma degree program in lifeguard training, 10+2 education or any 2 years ITI/Diploma with 400 Metres Swimming is required to apply.
Candidates who are interested to join any certificate programs offered by SDE, TNPESU should have completed class 10 or any equivalent from a recognized education board.
How to apply?
Eligible candidates who wish to apply for Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University distance education courses admissions 2020 can submit the online application form available at the official website of TNPESU. The online application form fee is Rs. 300/-
In the application form, candidates should select a study center and the course they wish to apply for. Also, in the necessary space provided in the application form, candidates should provide their personal details and upload their recent color photograph(File size: Less than 20 KB; Format: JPEG) and a scanned copy of their signature( File size: Less than 20 KB; Format: JPEG).
