MSE PGDM Programs admissions 2021

Madras School of Economics is inviting applications for admissions to 2-years full-time Postgraduate Diploma in Management courses approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Govt of India. PGDM Finance and PGDM Research & Business Analytics are the PGDM courses offered by MSE. These two PGDM programs train the students in all areas of Economics, Finance, Management, Data Science and Analytics. Also, these programs expose the students to the latest industry trends through internships and project work. MSE offers good placement opportunities for the PGDM students in the top MNCs like TCS, Cognizant, JP Morgan, HSBC, Ford, Deloitte, etc.

Eligibility criteria

Interested candidates who wish to pursue the PGDM course in Madras School of Economics can apply for admissions only if they satisfy the below-mentioned eligibility conditions.

  1. Candidates should have completed their Class X, XII and an undergraduate degree with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized educational institution.

  2. Candidates should have preferably learned Mathematics as one of the subjects in their Class XII

  3. Any graduates who have completed their education as per the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern are eligible to apply. Candidates who have completed any integrated program after their class XII will also be considered for PGDM admissions.

  4. Candidates who are awaiting their final year UG exam results can also apply, but they should submit a certificate from the Principal/HOD/Registrar/Director of their institution/university stating that the candidate is studying final year in their institute and is awaiting for exam results.

  5. Candidates should not have any arrears or backlogs at the time of joining the program.

  6. To apply for PGDM admissions at MSE, candidates should have attended any one of the following entrance exams-CAT/ GMAT/ XAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA. The scores of the entrance exam should be filled in the application form.

Application procedure for MSE PGDM admissions

Application form for PGDM admissions 2021 is available at the official website of MSE. Candidates have to download the application form, fill it offline and email the scanned copy of the filled-in application form along with fee receipts and all the necessary documents to pgdmadmission@mse.ac.in on or before the last date of submission.

The application form fee is Rs.1000/-. The candidate must pay the form fee through NEFT and enter the transaction ID in the application form. During the online transaction, candidates must mention their name in the transaction remarks field. Do not fail to attach the scanned copy of the payment receipt while submitting the application form through e-mail.

Selection process for MSE PGDM admissions

After the application forms are submitted, the selection committee of MSE will shortlist the candidates based on their performance in the standardized tests i.e. both overall and sectional cut-off scores. The admission committee will decide the overall and sectional cut-offs for each entrance exam and will publish those details on the official website of MSE. Only candidates who have high cut-off scores will be called to attend a Personal Interview(PI) at MSE. The call letter for the shortlisted candidates to attend the PI will be sent through letter/ email/SMS. Candidates will have to manage their own travel expenses for appearing for the interview at MSE, Chennai campus.

Note: Candidates should provide their valid email id and phone number while filling the application form because all the details regarding admissions will be sent only to the registered contact details in the form. MSE will not send any intimation to the applicants who are not shortlisted.

During the personal interview, MSE will assess the candidate's quantitative skills, critical reasoning, and communication skills by asking questions from various topics and decide whether the candidate is suitable for admissions to the PGDM program at MSE. The interview questions may cover topics such as a candidate's general awareness, purpose to pursue a PGDM course, the ability to apply the concepts studied, etc.

The final admissions of candidates to PGDM courses will be based on a candidate's academic performance, work experience(if any), Standardized test scores and performance in Personal Interview. Also, MSE strictly follows the reservation policies as per the guidelines listed for Central Government institutions.

Candidates who are provisionally selected for PGDM admissions at MSE will be intimated through email and over a phone call. All the provisionally selected candidates will have to confirm their admission offer, produce their original certificate and pay the course fee within 15 days of selection, failure in doing so will lead to cancellation of the admission offer. Provisionally selected students who are in the final year of their UG degree will have to submit their degree certificates on or before 30th September 2021. Also, at the time of admission, the students must submit an undertaking that they do not have more than 2 backlogs/arrears. Remember, MSE has all rights to reject the admission offer if the candidates have provided any incorrect information during the admission process.
