The School of International Biodesign (SiB), which is an offshoot of the earlier Stanford India Biodesign program and is under the aegis of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, has announced applications open for its iFellowship program. This program of one-year duration was set up in collaboration with AIIMS-Delhi, IIT-Delhi and reputed foreign universities.

The iFellowship program of SiB focuses on innovations in medical devices but is not confined to taking on board individuals of only the specific related disciplines of health or medicine. On the contrary, the program encourages people from diverse disciplines to join the program for a collaborative effort to work on pioneering products which would assist in creating groundbreaking solutions to a pre-identified problem. The ultimate goal is to create products that are within reach of all and are available at a low cost.
The full-time program will begin next year in March. On getting enrolled for the iFellowship program, you will receive a consolidated monthly stipend of Rs. 60,000/-. Expenses towards travel as well as health coverage will also be given. You will be under the guidance of not just the faculty of AIIMS-Delhi, where this program is based, and faculty of its collaborative partner, namely, IIT-Delhi, but also from qualified experts of reputed hospitals and the field of medical technology. If you are keen on doing further research and working in a similar related field after completing the program, you will get the necessary support for that as well from mentors.Eligibility requirements
Academic Qualifications: You must be a Graduate or Postgraduate in any of these fields –
General: You should have a good track record of innovation and a genuine interest and zeal for assisting in this development program. You are expected to be keen on doing research and be a team player, working towards bringing innovation to fruition as a commercial product.How to apply
