Earlier news

There have been a lot of delays in announcing the dates for the 2021 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exam for Class 10 and Class 12 students due to the ongoing pandemic situation. Allaying the doubts of anxious students and their parent, about a week ago, the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had assured that the dates would be released on 31st December 2020. Sure enough, he made the much-awaited announcement. The written exams will be held in offline mode at exam centres like it is for previous years. While earlier the Minister had stated that there may be an alternative to practicals' exams, he now stated that the schools will be permitted to conduct the practicals' exams of Class 12 taking all due precautions.

Dates announced earlier-
Start of CBSE Exams: 4th May 2021.
End of CBSE Exams: 10th June 2021.
Result of CBSE Exams: 15th July 2021.

Regarding Practicals of Class 12 exams-
Start date: 1st March 2021 (Monday) up to the last date of the theory exams of that class. This will include any other internal assessments or projects and practicals' exams. Schools will be permitted to conduct these exams.

Changes in the CBSE Exam Format

This year, as announced by the CBSE Board, there will be more questions where the student will have to apply his/her mind, like reading a paragraph and answering questions related to the text given in it. The Minister had also mentioned earlier in December that the CBSE Board's syllabus would have a reduction of 30% and that the 2021 exams will have 33% internal choice.
