Anna University Chennai has invited applications from eligible candidates for the Tamilnadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) for this academic year 2021. If you wish to seek admission to MBA, MCA and M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. Degree programmes for the academic year 2021-2022 in Tamilnadu, then first you need to appear for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2021 and then you need to apply for admission to the admitting authorities concerned. Like-wise courses like ME/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan is also offered at Self-financing Engineering Colleges where the seats are voluntarily surrendered for admission through a single- window counselling. This is in addition to the above mentioned 3 institutes.



Eligibility

MBA

Candidates with at least 50% marks in the 3-year qualifying degree examination are eligible to apply for TANCET 2021. Reserved category candidates require only 45% marks.
  • 10 + 3 years Diploma +3 years pattern OR 10 + 2 + 3 / 4 /5 years pattern OR B.Arch./ B.E. / B.Tech / B.Pharm. OR 10 + 2 + AMIE OR 10 + 3 years diploma which is awarded by the State Board of Technical Education + AMIE

MCA

Candidates with BCA/B.Sc (Information Technology / Computer Science or equivalent) OR a pass in Bachelors degree with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level or Graduation Level and obtained at least 50% marks in the qualifying degree examination are eligible to apply for the TANCET 2021. Only 45% of marks are required for candidates in the reserved category.
  • 10 + 3 years Diploma + 3 years pattern OR 10 + 2 + 3 / 4 / 5 years pattern OR 10 + 2 + AMIE
    OR 10 + 3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE

ME/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan

  1. Candidates who have a recognized Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in the relevant field and has obtained at least 50% in the qualifying degree examination are eligible to appear for this TANCET 2021. Only 45% of marks are required for reserved candidates.

Who are not eligible?

  1. Candidates who obtained their B.E./B.Tech. Degree through Distance / Weekend mode Programmes
  2. Candidates who were admitted through Lateral Entry in degree courses except, B.E./B.Tech. and M.C.A degree courses
  3. Candidates who obtained their degree without studying 10th, 12th or 3 years Diplomas and 3/4/5 years degree programme

Registration process

Candidates who wish to apply for TANCET 2021 should submit the online application form at https://tancet.annauniv.edu/tancet/# along with good quality, recently-taken photograph.

  • Step 1: First you need to click the registration link given in the official website of TANCET
  • Step 2: Here you need to click the Register Button and must provide the required information and then press Submit button.
  • Step 3: You will be directed to a payment page with instructions. where you can make the payment online
  • Step 4: Once you are done with the payment, you will be directed to a page where you are given instructions to give relevant details required for the examination. You need to follow the instructions and enter the details.
  • Step 5: At the end, you are requested to confirm the details provided. You can verify the details and confirm. Upon confirmation, you will be directed to a page where you can take a printout of your application and save it for reference.

Note: if you have completed the registration process, then only you will be able to take the printout of your application.

Documents needed for registration

  1. A valid email-ID and mobile number
  2. Year of passing, registration/roll number of Std 10 and 12
  3. .For diploma holders, you need to submit a diploma registration/roll number and year of passing
  4. Good quality passport size photo in jpg format.
  5. SC/ST/SCA. candidates should submit a copy of community certificate in pdf format
  6. The signature image in jpg format
  7. Certain particulars required for online payment

TANCET 2021 fees

  • General candidates: Rs 600/-
  • SC /SCA /ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu: Rs 300/-

Note: This fee is for any one of the programmes either 1. M.B.A. (or) 2. M.C.A. (or) 3. ME/ M.Tech/ M.Plan/M.ARch degree programs. .If you are applying for more than 1 program, then General candidates need to pay Rs 600/- and SC /SCA /ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu need to pay Rs 300/- for each additional programme.

How to pay the fees?

You can pay the fees via online mode only.

Where to get the hall tickets?

Candidates who are appearing for the TANCET 2021 exam can download the hall tickets from ANNA University website. Remember to bring your hall ticket at the time of the entrance test and admission.

Note: In case if you lost your hall ticket after the test, you can request a duplicate hall ticket by paying Rs 100/- in the form of a DD drawn in favour of "The Secretary (TANCET), Anna University"
payable at Chennai and with a written request to The Secretary (TANCET), Anna University, Chennai – 600 025. Make sure to indicate the Registration No. / Application No. and the name of the Examination

TANCET 2021 scoreboards

Candidates can download the scoreboard from university website after the publication of results. You should remember to bring this scoreboard at the time of admission.

Note: If the candidates have lost their scoreboard, they can obtain it by paying of 100/- in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of "The Secretary (TANCET), Anna University" payable at Chenna with a written request to The Secretary (TANCET), Anna University, Chennai – 600 025.
