Department of Industrial & Management Engineering (IME), Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-Kanpur) is accepting online admissions for its MBA program for the academic session 2021-23. Interested students who seek admission to this program must have a valid CAT scorecard from the 2020 exam conducted by IIMs.

For over 40 years, the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering at IIT Kanpur has offered an excellent blend of engineering and management through its varied UG, PG and Doctoral programs, each of which enables a student to develop technical, analytical and soft skills. Students graduating from IME have taken up job offers at reputed private companies and government organizations. The fact that faculty members of this Department have won prestigious awards and Fellowships are testimony to their expertise.
It's not all about attending lectures and seminars, though! There are unique IIT Kanpur Fests which are organized and attended by MBA students of the IME Department, including the annual management fest that has events for each specific area, such as marketing, HR, etc, the technical fest which gets enthusiastic participation from students of other B-schools, an inter-college cultural festival, etc. There are plenty of Clubs, too, such as one devoted to music, adventure, etc and hobby groups such as for joggers and cyclists.
The Wi-Fi enabled campus of IIT Kanpur has plenty of sports facilities, including for swimming, cricket, basketball, etc, management computing and simulating labs, a library, hostel facilities with mess and a gym, etc.
About IME MBA program
There are 78 seats, with seats reserved for certain categories as per the norms of the Central Govt.
Started in 2001, the syllabus of the MBA program is regularly updated to keep up with contemporary industry trends. The 21-month full-time course is over four semesters, with both, a winter and a summer internship. IIT Kanpur MBA Core Courses: Probability & Statistics; Economics for Management; Decision-making and Quantitative Methods; Financial Management; Organisation Behaviour; Production and Operations Management; and Socio-Political, Legal & Ethical Environment of Business.
The Capstone Project of the MBA program at IME IIT Kanpur is a unique feature. This is taken up over two semesters, wherein knowledge across specific streams are applied to a real-life business-related problem with the student working in an organization under the mentorship of IME Faculty (refer: http://iitk.ac.in/ime/capstone/). For those applying in the General Category, EWS and OBC (NCL): You should have scored a minimum of 65% and above in both, the Class 10, and the Class 12 exams. At the Graduate level, you should have a B.Tech. or B.E. or B. Arch. (with Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class XII) Degree with a minimum aggregate of 65% or a CPI of 6.5 on a scale of 10 from any AICTE-recognized institute/university, IITs, NITs, and IIITs.
Other acceptable educational qualifications are B.Sc. Engineering (with Maths as one of the subjects in the UG program) acquired through a four- year degree program; or BS (with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the UG program) acquired through a four-year degree program; or a Master of Science (with Maths as one of the subjects in the UG program); or Master of Arts in Economics (with Maths as one of the subjects in the UG program.
CAT Score: The overall CAT-2020 score should be 85 percentile and above.

For ST and ST applicants: The educational qualifications are the same as stated above, with an aggregate of 55% or a CPI of 5.5 on a scale of 10 and 55% and above in Class X and Class XII exams. The CAT-2020 score requirement is overall 75 percentile and above.
Those appearing for the final degree exam this year can also apply and, if selected, will get provisional admission, with final admission being permitted on producing all the required supporting documents of the qualifying degree at the time of joining the course.How to apply

The application fee has to be paid online with a debit card or credit card or can be paid through Net Banking or RuPay. The application fee is Rs.1600/- for General and OBC (NCL) candidates and Rs. 800/- for EWS/SC/ST/DAP (Differently Abled Person).
On completing the submission of the application, use the print button that is provided to save a PDF copy of the application form. Don't worry if you forget to download and save it; you can do so through log-in again.
After the final payment, you will receive an intimation on your email for confirmation of successful submission and payment, along with a copy of the receipt on your registered email id.

Note: Due to the current pandemic, IME IIT Kanpur will not be conducting any GDs or interviews for the 2021-23 MBA program. Those who are shortlisted for admission will be selected on the basis of their CAT Percentile Score, academic background, and work experience.Important dates
