Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is one of the most sought after business schools in India. An institute of national importance, it has its footprints in the whole of Asia-Pacific for the quality of its various degree programmes. Apart from its regular degree-granting programmes, the institute offers a number of executive education programmes, attended by thousands of working professionals. The two-year weekend Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) is one such programme for working professionals. It is equivalent to the regular MBA degree programmes and is an endeavour by IIM Bangalore to provide quality management education to those who cannot attend the regular programmes. Reservation of seats is provided for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS and PwD candidates as per the directive of the central government on reservations.

About the program

The PGPEM programme aims to deliver functional knowledge about the various management principles and to provide the participants with necessary practical exposure to such concepts. Those willing to take up additional responsibilities at their workplace and aspiring to climb up the corporate ladder will find this program extremely useful. The first year will focus more on general management principles. However, from the third semester onwards, the participants will get to choose from a rich array of electives that are tailored to suit the needs of each and every participant with respect to their skills and past work experience. The students also have the liberty to choose the electives from the other degree-granting programmes available at IIM Bangalore.

Whom it is meant for

The weekend MBA degree programme, launched in 1998, is meant for those working professionals who are in the mid or senior-level executive positions. The candidates should have four years of work experience after completing their graduate degree. The programme being a weekend one, is aptly suitable for those who have a regular job, as they do not have to take a break from their work for pursuing it. Even though this is a weekend programme, participants after graduating will be part of the regular IIMB Alumni Association.

How the programme will be delivered

For pursuing the programme, the participants will have to attend weekend classes at the IIM Bangalore campus as per timing scheduled by the programme coordinators.

Programme fee

The programme or the tuition fee for the entire duration of 2 years was INR19,00,000 for PGPEM 2020. For PGPEM 2021, the tuition fee is subject to revision.
