IIAD admissions 2021

IIAD admits candidates to the UG and PG courses based on the merit scores in iDAT and iMAT entrance exam. To apply for the entrance exam conducted by IIAD, candidates must satisfy the below-mentioned eligibility conditions.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Candidates who desire to apply for the UG degree programmes of IIAD should have passed their Class 12 examination or any equivalent examination in any stream(Science/Humanities/Commerce/Arts) from the CBSE/ICSE/ NIOS/ IB/CIE/Indian state boards or any other approved board of education.
  2. Candidates who are appearing for the class 12 board examination in the current academic year and those who are waiting for their board exam results may also apply for IIAD UG programmes.
  3. To apply for PG degree programmes in IIAD, candidates must have completed their UG degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian Universities or Institutes. Candidates who are appearing for the final semester exam and those who are waiting for their final semester results may also apply.

IIAD Application process

IIAD accepts the submission of application forms through both the online and offline mode. Eligible candidates who wish to apply through online mode can fill the online application form available at the official website of IIAD. Candidates have to first register themselves and submit the online application form along with the necessary documents. While submitting the online application form, candidates are requested to follow the form filling guidelines mentioned in the admission portal of IIAD. Candidates who have submitted online application form need not submit the printed copy of the application form at IIAD.

Candidates who wish to submit the application form through offline mode can visit the IIAD campus and obtain the application form. The application form should be filled properly and submitted at the IIAD admission office along with the photocopies of necessary documents. While submitting the filled in application form, an application form fee of INR 2,000 should be paid. Candidates will receive an acknowledgement email after the successful submission of the application form.

The application forms should be submitted before the last date. The forms submitted after the deadline will be rejected. Also, the institute has all rights to reject the form if the details submitted in the form are incorrect.

IIAD Entrance Exam

For the candidates who have submitted the application form, IIAD will conduct iDAT & iMAT entrance exam. Candidates have to attend the entrance exam and must possess a valid exam score to get admissions at IIAD. Due to COVID 19, the entrance exam will be conducted through online mode.

iDAT:
iDAT is IIAD's Online Design Aptitude test conducted to shortlist the candidates for admissions to UG and PG design programmes. The duration of iDAT will be 2 hours and 30 minutes. The iDAT online aptitude test will contain questions to assess creative thinking, logical reasoning, and visual aptitude.

For the candidates who have applied for admissions to UG programmes such as Fashion Design, Communication Design, Interior Architecture & Design, IIAD will conduct iDAT online aptitude test only. But for candidates who have applied for admissions to M.A Fashion design, IIAD will conduct an online aptitude test and an online personal interview. Applicants who have applied for M.A fashion design course will get an email invite with the Date and Time for the Online Personal Interview from IIAD after completing the online design aptitude test.

iMAT:
iMAT is IIAD's Online Design Management Test conducted to shortlist the candidates for admissions to B.A(Hons) Fashion Business Management and M.A Fashion Business Management courses. The duration of iMAT exam will be 2 hours. iMAT will assess the language, analytical thinking and logical reasoning ability of the candidates. After the completion of the iMAT online entrance exam, the candidates who have applied for the UG and PG management courses in IIAD will be invited to attend an online personal interview.

Candidates can obtain the sample papers for iDAT and iMAT entrance exam after successful submission of the IIAD application form.

IIAD Selection Process

Admissions at IIAD will done purely based on merit. IIAD will admit the candidates to the UG and PG Design & Management programmes based on the performance of the candidates in the online entrance test and the personal interview. To attend the IIAD entrance exam or personal interview, the portfolio is not mandatory but having one will be beneficial. Candidates with knowledge or experience in drawing/sketching, visual art forms and model making may get high preference during the admissions.

Art and design courses are meant for learning in the field of design by understanding the basic principles of designing in various areas like communication, fashion, advertisement, facade sculpturing, and other related areas.
