Indian Institute of Crafts & Design(IICD) is one of the premier design institutes in India that was established at Jaipur in the year 1995 by the Government of Rajasthan. It is an autonomous institute affiliated to Rajasthan Skill ILD University (RISU). To revitalize the craft sector in India, the IICD was set up to conduct education and research in craft and design. The institute offers bachelor and master degree programmes in various areas of design and also provide relevant training in the craft sector. The faculty members of IICD possess excellent academic credentials along with a practical experience in crafts and design. Also, the institute has a good infrastructure ideal for creative education. To conduct creative design classes, the institute has studios, workshops with advanced tools and equipment, display spaces, computer lab, library, resource centre, etc. For accommodation, IICD provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls.

Only candidates who satisfy the following eligibility conditions can apply for B.Des, M.Des and M.Voc admissions at IICD.Application procedure
Eligible candidates can apply for B.Des, M.Des or M.Voc courses of IICD by filling the online application form available at the official website of IICD. At first, the candidates must register themselves by submitting their valid mobile number and an email address in the registration form. On successful registration, candidates can log in to fill the IICD online application form. While filling the online application form, candidates must mention the specialization they wish to study. The application form will be submitted successfully, only if the candidates fill all the details in the form, upload the necessary documents in the correct format and pay the admission fee.

The Admission processing fee for Indian and SAARC Nationals is INR 1,750 and for NRI/ other Foreign Nationals is INR 3500. Candidates must pay the admission fee through the online payment gateway. Remember, the applicants who are applying under NRI and Foreign Nationals category would need to obtain a valid residence permit or student visa for the prescribed duration of the programme and/or any other condition required as per the law of Government of India.

On successful submission of the online application form, the applicants will receive a confirmation email with payment reference id. Applicants who did not receive the confirmation email must contact admissions@iicd.ac.in by attaching the bank statement/card transaction proof. The online applications for UG and PG admissions should be submitted on or before the last date. IICD Entrance Test
The submitted online application forms will be processed for the Entrance Test. Candidates will receive their admit card from IICD to their registered email id. Candidates who have submitted the form successfully but have not received the admit card by 07.05.2021 are requested to contact the IICD Admission Cell (details mentioned below).
The IICD Entrance Test will contain 3 parts
Part A: Question Paper (Weightage: 30%)
The registered candidates will get a question paper from IICD along with the admit card via email. The candidates will have to answer the questions in PDF/Word file and submit it along with the portfolio on the scheduled date.
Part B: Portfolio Submission(Weightage: 50%)
IICD will convey the specification regarding the portfolio submission to the applicants through the email along with the Question Paper. Based on the portfolio submitted, the institute will evaluate the candidate's creative ability, observations, perceptions, visual interpretation, etc. So, in the portfolio, the candidates can include their creative work like painting, sketching, photography, embroidery, etc.
Part C: Personal Interview(Weightage: 20%)
IICD will conduct a personal interview online. The date of interview will be communicated through email. The interview panel will test the candidates' communication ability, IQ, aptitude to crafts, General Awareness about Crafts & Design and the achievements in academics and co-curricular activities.Selection process
IICD will admit the candidates to the degree programmes based on their performance in the entrance test. The Admission Committee and Management of IICD will shortlist the candidates and will publish the list of selected candidates for admission on www.iicd.ac.in. All the selected candidates will receive an admission letter regarding their selection to the degree programmes for the academic session 2021 through email. In the admission letter, the selected candidates can get details regarding payment of fees, hostel allotment date, time and venue of commencement of the academic session. The decision of the selection committee of IICD will be final and no changes cannot be made.
Reservation:
IICD will admit the candidates into the degree programmes based on the reservation policy of the UGC. The reservation percentage for admissions in IICD is
OBC-27%; ST-15%; SC-7.5% and PH- 3%
The seats will be opened to the General category if there are insufficient applications from the reserved categories.
