AILET–2021 National Law University Delhi five-year B.A.LL.B., LLM PhD online admissions

National Law University, Delhi has announced fresh dates for the All India Law Entrance Test–2021 (AILET–2021) through which students can seek admission to the five-year B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) course, as well as the LL.M. and Ph.D. programs. The new AILET date is 20th June 2021, with the exam from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. The admission notification for all these courses was released a few days ago.

Duration: This is a five years' Integrated Degree program over 10 semesters.
Number of Seats: There are 110 seats based on merit through AILET, and five seats for foreign nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/Person of Indian Origin (PIO). The latter can apply for direct admission based on merit and do not need to appear for AILET. However, they should have scored a minimum of 65% in the qualifying exam. There are additional Supernumerary seats as well, with one seat for Kashmiri Migrants and two for residents of Jammu & Kashmir.
The Degree: You will be awarded the B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) Degree only on successfully completing all the 50 prescribed courses with a total of 180 Credits and obtaining a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.00 out of 7.00, as the case may be, and it is mandatory to complete the entire course within the maximum period of eight years from the year of admission to the course.
Who can apply: You need to have passed the Senior Secondary School Exam (10+2) or an equivalent exam with minimum 45% marks. For students applying in the categories of SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD), the minimum pass percentage is 40. Those who are appearing for the Class 12 annual exam in 2021 are also eligible to apply.
NLU Delhi LL.M. program
Duration: This is a one-year course.
Number of seats: There are 70 seats based on merit through AILET, and five seats for foreign nationals and five for OCI/PIO who do not have to appear for AILET. There is also one additional supernumerary seat for Kashmiri Migrants.
Course structure: There are three mandatory papers, with six optional/specialization papers, and a Dissertation.
The Degree: You will be awarded the LL.M. Degree in the particular stream only on successfully completing all the courses and the Dissertation, obtaining at least a 'B' Grade, and secured a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3 out of 7.
Who can apply: You should have passed LL.B. or an equivalent law degree with minimum 50% marks (minimum 45% for SC, ST and PwD students). Those who are appearing for the final year LL.B. annual exam in 2021 can also apply. Foreign nationals need to have an academic record of LL.B. or equivalent that is recognized by UGC/Association of Indian Universities with minimum 55% marks or an equivalent Grade, and communications skills in written and spoken English will also be assessed at the time of interviews.
NLU Delhi PhD program
There are 13 seats for the Ph.D. program for admission through AILET-merit and two seats for direct admission to foreign nationals based on the merit of Research Proposals. Foreign Nationals do not have to appear for AILET.
Duration: For the full-time Doctoral program, you are required to put in a minimum of three years of residence of which at least 18 months shall be in NLU Delhi conducting research under a supervisor, after which you are permitted to conduct research work outside NLU Delhi.
Those enrolling for the NLU Delhi Ph.D. program on a part-time basis are required to put in a minimum of four years of part-time study, which will include the time spent for research at any other place with the permission of the supervisor. The part-time candidates will be required to be in residence in NLU Delhi for at least a total period of two semesters spread over the five-year period (refer to the official bulletin to know about which candidates are exempted from the residency requirement).
Note: You are required to complete the doctoral research and submit the thesis for evaluation within a maximum period of five years. Extensions may be permitted with approval by the Doctoral Committee.
Who can apply: You should have passed LL.M. or an equivalent law degree with minimum 55% marks (minimum 50% for SC, ST and PwD students). How to register for NLU Delhi AILET-2021
You have to register and apply for the above mentioned law programs through online mode at National Law University Delhi admissions' website .
The application fee also has to be paid online. The fee is Rs.3,050/- for general category candidates, and Rs.1,050/- for students applying in the categories of SC, ST and PwD. There is no application fee for students applying in the category of Below Poverty Line (BPL) of SC/ST category.
During the online application process, you can select the exam centre of your choice for AILET-2021. The cities where the entrance test will be held are: Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Silchar, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.Important dates
