How to submit online applications for BMC Mumbai Public Schools admissions
Are you keen to get admission to a Mumbai Public School under the management of BMC? BMC has released the admission notification for admission to its new CBSE and ICSE schools in Mumbai city where education will be given free of cost. This article provides the full list of BMC Mumbai Public Schools where children can get admission, the age criteria required, and the online admission procedure.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai has announced admissions open for some of its Mumbai Public Schools (MPS) in Mumbai for the academic session 2021. Parents keen to get admission to the school have to submit the applications online up to 17th March 2021. The entire admission procedure is quick and hassle-free.

Admissions are open for the academic year 2021-22 for Junior KG to 6th grade at 10 newly-opened BMC MPS and for Junior Kg at MPS Poonam Nagar (CBSE curriculum) and MPS Woollen Mills (ICSE curriculum). The schools are the same as mentioned later in this article under 'Help Centres'.
Two points to note are, firstly, Marathi as a third language is mandatory for all the students at all CBSE and ICSE board Mumbai Public Schools. Secondly, for the academic year 2021-22, classes from Jr. KG to Class II will be started at these schools- MPS Bhavani Shankar Road, MPS Kane Nagar, MPS Rajawadi, MPS Mithagar, MPS Hariyali, MPS Aziz Baug, MPS Tunga Village, MPS Chikuwadi, MPS Jankalyan Nagar, and MPS Pratikshanagar. However, at these schools, the classes from Std. III to VI will start only if a minimum of 10 students enroll for the class.Eligibility requirements for admission
As per RTE admission norms, students who stay within a 3km radius of a school will be given preference for admission to that school. Admission to a BMC Mumbai Public School is as per the following age criteria-
For Jr. KG: Minimum date of birth- 1st October 2016; Maximum date of birth- 31st December 2017
For Sr. KG: Minimum date of birth- 1st October 2015; Maximum date of birth- 31st December 2016
Std. I: Minimum date of birth- 1st October 2014; Maximum date of birth- 31st December 2015
Std. II: Minimum date of birth- 1st October 2013; Maximum date of birth- 31st December 2014
Std. III: Minimum date of birth- 1st October 2012; Maximum date of birth- 31st December 2013
Std. IV: Minimum date of birth- 1st October 2011; Maximum date of birth- 31st December 2012
Std. V: Minimum date of birth- 1st October 2010; Maximum date of birth- 31st December 2011
Std. VI: Minimum date of birth- 1st October 2009; Maximum date of birth- 31st December 2010

Parents have to first read the instructions that are provided in the manual at BMC Mumbai Public Schools' website and then submit the application online at- http://bit.ly/MPS-BMC
In the first section of the online application form, you have to fill in personal details, namely, the child's name, date of birth, address, etc., and to which school you are seeking admission for your child, as well as the Board and class. Then comes the section for details of the family, namely, names of parents/Guardians, educational qualifications and profession, address, contact numbers, and email ID. The final section is to fill in details of the child's health, namely Blood Group, allergies if any, illnesses if any that the school should be aware of, and a Yes/No if the child has been immunized/given any vaccinations.
Documents to be uploaded when filling up the online application are: (i) Student's Adhaar Card; and (ii) Adhaar Card of a parent (the numbers on the Cards have to be entered in the respective boxes). Also, a passport size photo of the student has to be uploaded in .bmp format (maximum 128KB).

In case you are not having Net connectivity facility or are facing problems in getting a proper connection due to which you are unable to submit the online application, you can visit the facilitation center that has been set up at the schools listed below. The school teachers will be present to assist you in filling up the online form. You can go to the school between 25th Feb 2021 and 17th March 2021 only at these times: 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, from Monday to Saturday.

Procedure after application
In the second stage of the application procedure, the online applications will be screened and checked if all details have been provided properly. If your ward's application is shortlisted, you will be called for an admission counselling session, for which you must report to the school on the date specified along with original copies of the following documents-

In case more than 34 students enroll for a particular class, then there will be a lottery system of the applications for that class. The dates of this lottery will be announced once the initial screening process is completed.
A final list of the students who will get admission will be put up on the respective school notice board once the lottery draw is completed. You then have to report to the school to complete the formalities of the final enrollment, the schedule of which will be intimated to you by the respective school.Important dates
