Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) has announced admissions open for its 20th Fellow Programme in Management (Rural Management), for 2021. The FPM (RM) program is recognized as a Ph.D. program by the Sardar Patel University, Anand, and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

There are 10 seats available, and fewer candidates may be enrolled in the programme if there is an insufficient number of eligible candidates. Seats for reserved category candidates are as per the Central Govt. norms and seats that are not filled by candidates of the reserved category will be offered to the general category. There is a monthly Fellowship of Rs. 25000-28000 as well as an annual contingency grant of Rs. 20,000 for four years. The top five candidates on the merit list will be given the scholarship.

FPM (RM) eligibility requirements

Academic Qualification

You should have a Master's degree or an equivalent professional degree/diploma from a recognized university or institution in any discipline with at least First Class marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade. A relaxation of 5% will be accorded to candidates applying in the categories of SC, ST, OBC-Non-creamy layer, and Differently-Abled Person (DAP). However, this relaxation is based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures. If you expect to fulfil the eligibility requirements before 1st July 2021, then also you are eligible to apply.



Qualifying Exam

You should have a valid score of the last five years in any of the qualifying exams-
  1. Common Admission Test (CAT)
  2. Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
  3. Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
  4. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
  5. UGC-JRF (Junior Research Fellowship)/NET (National Eligibility Test )
  6. Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-JRF/NET
  7. Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-SRF (Senior Research Fellow)
  8. ICAR/Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB)-NET

Valid scores obtained from 1st January 2016 onwards in all the specified qualifying exams are eligible.

FPM (RM) application procedure

Applications have to be submitted online at the IRMA FPM (RM) admissions 2021 portal after registration with a valid email ID and mobile phone number. When entering your name in the online application form, ensure that it is the same name as given in your postgraduate certificate. Information entered can be edited at any time before final submission, but not after that, so double-check that all the details have been correctly entered. Scan and upload the relevant documents at the required stages of the online application process, including your photo and signature, and a self-attested latest proof issued by the appropriate authority of OBC (Non-creamy)/SC/ST/DAP category, if applicable.

You are also required to submit, along with the application, a preliminary research proposal of approximately 2000 words on any topic/problem of the proposed research. You need to mention the relevance of the research proposal, what is the aim and methodology, and the expected results or findings. After final submission, you can download and save the completed application for future reference.



How candidates are selected for IRMA FPM (RM)

Your application will be screened by IRMA's Selection Committee. They will be looking into the academic qualification, test scores, and the research proposal and will establish certain screening and cut-off criteria depending on the response. If you are shortlisted based on the criteria, you will then have to attend a personal interview (PI) and present the research proposal. In this stage of the selection process, you will be gauged for your knowledge of the subject, your analytical abilities, and research aptitude, etc. A written test may also be administered if considered necessary to assess analytical and communication skills.
