To get B.Des admissions at Nirma University, the interested candidates should have passed the HSC examination (10+2) or any other equivalent recognized examination with a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks (or) the candidates should have completed 10+3 Diploma Education approved by the State Board of Technical Education or any other recognized board/ university with a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks.How to apply
The eligible candidates can apply for B.Des admissions at Nirma University by submitting the online application form available at the official website of the University.
At first, the candidates need to create a new user account by registering their details. After successful registration, the candidates can log in using their credentials to fill the B.Des online application form. All the fields in the form should be filled with the correct details.
For successful submission of the filled-in application form, the candidates must pay a non-refundable application processing fee online via credit card/debit card/net banking.
The application processing fee for General Quota candidates is Rs.2000 + applicable taxes and for the NRI & NRI Sponsored Candidates, the fee is Rs. 3000 + applicable taxes.
Candidates should submit the filled-in application form on or before the last date of submission. After the successful submission of the application form, the candidates can use their login credentials to check the status of the form later.Selection process for Indian Applicants
To get B.Des admissions at Nirma University, the Indian applicants must have a valid score in the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design(UCEED) conducted by IIT, Bombay ( or) Nirma University- Design Entrance Test(NU-DET) conducted by the Department of Design, Nirma University.

Candidates who have not appeared for UCEED-2021 and those who wish to have an option of considering NU-DET score for final selection can attend NU-DET.
After the entrance exams are conducted, the admission committee of Nirma University will shortlist the candidates based on their performance in UCEED/ NU-DET and will invite the shortlisted applicants for a Situation Test and Personal Interview.
In the Situation Test, the admission committee will evaluate the design aptitude of applicants and their creativity, 2D and 3D visualization skills, dexterity and handling of materials.
In the Personal Interview, the selection team will evaluate the general awareness, interest, quality of responses to social and cultural issues, aptitude, articulation skills, etc. While attending the personal interview, the candidates should take their portfolio with a maximum limit of 10 works in total and present it to the interview panel. The portfolio can contain work such as drawings, paintings, craftwork, photographs, films/videos, articles, stories, essays, poems, etc. prepared by the student.
Documents to be submitted
The admission committee will verify the original documents of the candidates at the time of the interview. So, along with the portfolio, candidates should take the following original documents and 2 sets of photocopies of the original documents to the personal interview. Foreign Nationals who have non-Indian passports (FN) or the students who have non-Indian passports (FN) along with the OCI or PIO card (OCI/PIO) can apply for B.Des courses admissions 2021 at Nirma University under OCI/PIO/FN Supernumerary category that has 10% seats reserved.
Applicants whose parents are currently working in Gulf countries or South-east Asia can apply for Nirma University under CIWGC-SEA Supernumerary category that has 5% seats reserved but they must hold Indian Passports and must have passed any qualifying exams either from India or outside of India.

NRI applicants will be exempted from attending the Entrance Test if they have passed their qualifying examination from outside India. For such applicants, the admission committee of Nirma University will evaluate the merit scores considering the minimum qualifying marks as per the rules of the University or equivalent exam of the country of residence. The shortlisted candidates will have to attend a Skype interview. Before attending the Skype Interview, the applicants must send their portfolio along with two letters of recommendation from senior school teachers via email.
Remember, NRI Applicants who do not attend the situation test and the personal interview on the scheduled date and time will forfeit their chance for admission to the B.Des course.

After the selection procedures are completed, Nirma University will send a provisional letter to all the selected Indian, International and NRI candidates with details to join the Department of Design at Nirma University.
