Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Chennai which is under the aegis of the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India has announced the schedule for admission to Diploma, Post-Diploma, and PG Diploma courses for the academic year 2021-22 through a Computer Based Test (CBT). Students have to register online for the CIPET Admission Test-2021, which is scheduled for the last week of July 2021.CIPET campus infrastructure
There are more than 30 CIPET campuses/centres across India, with NABL and NABCA certified laboratories that provide hands-on learning opportunities with modern tools and equipment. The campus has separate hostel accommodation for boys and girls and other infrastructure includes a library, mess, sports, and recreational facilities, etc. Highly qualified faculty with expertise in polymers and plastics provide an enriching academic ambience. Students are also encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities. Towards the end of the course, students enrol in an industrial internship program with a stipend. Students enrolled in the CIPET Diploma programs are eligible for lateral entry in engineering programs and are eligible to receive scholarships from the Central and State Government.
CIPET Courses
You need to check whether a particular course is offered at the campus/centre where you are seeking admission, as it depends on how many students are keen on taking up the course. If there is not much patronage, the campus may not offer the course. The AICTE-approved courses and eligibility requirements for each are as follows-Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology (DPMT)
DPMT is a three-year course over six semesters.
Eligibility: You should have passed Class 10/Class 12/ITI. You are also eligible to apply if you have appeared for the final exam this year and are awaiting the result.Diploma in Plastics Technology (DPT)
DPT is a three-year course over six semesters.
Eligibility: You should have passed Class 10/Class 12/ITI. You are also eligible to apply if you have appeared for the final exam this year and are awaiting the result.Post Diploma in Plastics Mould Design with CAD/CAM
PD-PMD with CAD/CAM is for 1½ years, over three semesters.
Eligibility: You should have passed a full-time three-year Diploma course in Mechanical/Plastics/Polymer/Tool/Production/Mechatronics/Automobile/TooI & Die Making/Petrochemicals/Industrial/Instrumentation Engineering/Technology or DPMT/DPT (CIPET) or equivalent. You are also eligible to apply if you have appeared for the final exam this year and are awaiting the result.Postgraduate Diploma in Plastics Processing and Testing (PGD-PPT)
PGD-PPT is a two-year course over four semesters.
Eligibility: You should have passed a full-time three-year Degree in Science. You are also eligible to apply if you have appeared for the final exam this year and are awaiting the result.

The CBT is of two hours' duration with 100 objective multiple-choice questions, the syllabus of which is as per the entry qualification and General Knowledge (sports, history, politics, computer science, entertainment, current affairs, etc). There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.How to apply You must register and apply online with a current email ID and mobile number at the CIPET online registration portal. Before doing so, it is advisable to go through the information brochure to confirm that you fulfil the eligibility requirements.

The application fee to be paid online is as follows- Rs.500/- for General/OBC/others, Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates, and Rs.100/- for students from the North-Eastern region. The payment can be done through Net banking or with a Credit Card or a Debit card or payment Wallets or UPI.
On selection, you will need to submit original certificates of academic qualifications, date of birth, the community certificate, and the reservation quota certificate, if applicable, at the time of admission for verification.Important dates
