About KSID
Kerala State Institute of Design (KSID) was established in support by National Institute of Design(NID), Ahmedabad to promote design education and create an enthusiastic design community in Kerala in partnership with artisans, public and the professional designers. It is one of the first state-owned design institutes in India. The institute is managed by the Honorable Minister for Labour and Skills, Government of Kerala. KSID offers PG Diploma Design programmes approved by AICTE. The Institute is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and it follows a well-designed curriculum of NID.

The duration of the course is two and a half academic years i.e. 5-semester programme. The courses include lectures, seminars, workshops, laboratory work and a final year diploma project with a thesis.

How to apply
For admissions to PG Diploma courses in Design, candidates have to submit an online application form available at the official website of KSID.
The application form fee is Rs.1000/- and it should be paid only through the SBI collect option available on https://www.onlinesbi.com/prelog in/icollecthome.htm. The application form fee can be paid through online mode only. Candidates after paying the application fee should mention the details of payment in the application form.
While filling in the application form, candidates should provide valid details in all the mandatory fields and upload a recent passport size photograph along with the self-attested scanned copies of the following documents.
Documents to be uploaded
The application form along with the necessary documents should be submitted on or before the last date to avoid rejection. Admissions to the course in KSID are purely provisional. The institute has all rights to cancel the admission of the candidates if any malpractice is detected at any stage of the admission process.Selection process
After the submission of the online application forms, the KSID will call the eligible candidates for a Design Aptitude Test. The shortlisted candidates from the entrance test will be then further called to attend a studio test and interview at the KSID campus. After the interview, the institute will publish the final rank list and waiting list based on the performance of the candidates in the studio test and interview. All the vacant seats for the PG Diploma programmes in KSID will be filled as per the reservation norms of the Government of Kerala.

The total number of seats allotted for each degree course is 10. As per the mandatory reservation, the total number of seats will be divided as follows
Open merit- 6 seats
Socially and educationally backward classes- 3 seats
SC & ST-1 seat
The vacant seats will be filled up from the open merit list if eligible candidates are not found in any reserved category.Important dates
