The National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI), Vadodara invites applications for its undergraduate, and postgraduate programs till 21 July. For B.Tech programs, the application window will remain open till 20th August 2021.

Overview

NRTI (or National Rail and Transportation Institute) is a deemed-to-be-university established by the Ministry of Railways in the Vadodara district of Gujarat. All the programs offered by NRTI are based on the transport infrastructure of Indian Railways. While pursuing academic courses, scholars will get the opportunity to access model rooms, workshops of Indian Railways. In addition, they will also get training from the railway higher rank officials to build a strong foundation while learning. Note that financial aid is also offered to students based on their rank secured in the entrance. Also, female students are offered financial aid. After completion of any one of these courses, there will be a greater chance for you to get a job in Indian Railways.

  • BBA and B.Sc. courses - 125 seats

  • B.Tech course - 60 seats

Academic requirements


  • BBA in Transportation Management: 10+2 Science stream with Mathematics or Statistics as a primary subject.

  • B.Sc. in Transportation Technology: 10+2 Science stream with Mathematics or Statistics as a primary subject.

  • B.Tech. in Rail Infrastructure Engineering: 10+2 with Maths, Physics and Chemistry (science stream) and a valid JEE Mains score is mandatory.

  • B.Tech. in Rail Systems & Communication Engineering: 10+2 with Maths, Physics and Chemistry (science stream) and a valid JEE Mains score is mandatory.

Note that candidate should have secured at least 55% marks in 10+2 Board exam, for reserved category candidates like SC/ST/OBC, at least 50% marks is mandatory.

Age requirement

The candidate's age should be below the age of 25 years as of 1st August 2021.

Entrance Exam pattern (for B.Sc. and BBA):

  • Mode: Computer-based/Online

  • Number of questions: 100 MCQs

  • Duration of exam: 90 minutes

  • Marking: +1 for correct answer, -0.25 for incorrect answer

  • Language: English

  • Sections in entrance exam:

    1. Proficiency in English Language (25 questions)

    2. Reasoning & General Intelligence (30 questions)

    3. Quantitative & Numerical Ability (25 questions)

    4. General Awareness (20 questions)

    Selection process for Admission


    • BBA and BSc. programmes - Admission based on NRTI admission entrance test

    • B.Tech programmes - Admission based on JEE Main 2021 scores.

    NRTI PG programmes

    • M.Sc. in Transport Technology and Policy - 30 seats

    • M.Sc. in Transport Information Systems & Analytics - 30 seats

    • M.Sc. in Railway Systems Engineering & Integration (International degree) - 15 seats

    • MBA in Supply Chain Management - 60 seats

    • MBA in Transportation Management - 60 seats

    • PGDM in Transportation/ Logistics - 100 seats

    • PGDM in Transportation Infrastructure Development & Financing/Project Management - 100 seats

    Academic requirements

    To be eligible for M.Sc., MBA, PGDM programmes mentioned above, the candidate must have secured at least 55% marks in the Bachelor course (having Mathematics or Statistics as one of the primary subjects). 5% relaxation is offered to reserved category candidates (i.e. SC/ST/OBC).

    Age requirement

    No such age requirement for PG programmes.

      How to Apply

      Candidates will have to visit official site i.e. NRTI Admission. As of now, candidates might not be having scores like Class XII scores, graduation scores, JEE Main 2021 scores, CAT/MAT/XAT scores while applying for the required course. In this case, they can fill the application form and edit it further after the edit window opens.

      Note that in the case of applications without having required scores, documents would be considered invalid.
