CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP), a plant research laboratory, was established by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), under the aegis of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. The Institute is actively engaged in the research on medicinal and aromatic plants and other areas of biological, agricultural, and chemical sciences. Sciences or Agriculture or Botany or Chemistry or Biotechnology or Bio-Medical Sciences or Biochemistry or Plant Sciences or Environmental Sciences or Molecular Biology or Bioinformatics from any recognized university.

The candidates who wish to join the Ph.D. program of CSIR-CIMAP must visit the official website of CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow and read the instructions given in the official advertisement carefully before applying. Application format is available on the official website and a link of the same is also provided at the end of this article. After downloading and printing, the application form must be filled completely. The candidates must attach the scanned and attested copies of academic mark sheets and certificates and proof of award of the fellowship. Application Fee
Along with the application, a processing fee must be paid by the candidate. The application fee is non-refundable and is to be paid through online mode in favour of the CSIR-CIMAP Account (Account No. 30267691783 and also IFSC SBIN0000125). Selection for admission to the CIMAP-JNU Ph.D. program will be made based on an online interview that will be conducted through MS-TEAM. Online interview will be conducted at CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow following social distancing due to COVID-19. All the arrangements for stay and food will have to be made by the candidates for attending the interview at CSIR-CIMAP. Institute will not provide any stay arrangements and travel costs.
Registration Process for Ph.D.
Before registration in the Ph.D. program, the selected candidates will have to complete Pre-PhD courses in any type of one sub-discipline in their area of interest as the core courses with optional courses. This pre-PhD course will be completed in one year and will have 2 semesters. The students who will score OGPA 6.5/ 10.0 (for general & OBC category) and also 6.0/ 10.0 (for SC/ST/PH) will be eligible for registration in PhD programme. Only after the successful completion of pre-PhD courses, the students will get registered in the Ph.D. program of CIMAP-JNU and will research under the supervision of CSIR-CIMAP scientists.
