Goa University, one of India's famous universities is inviting applications from students of higher secondary level for admissions to the B.A. (Honours) French & B.A. (Honours) Portuguese Programmes for the academic year 2021-2022. The other details regarding the admissions are given below.

B.A. (Honours) French

Candidates with a pass in 10+2 / H.S.S.C. from recognized boards in any discipline are eligible to apply for the B.A. (Honours) French program offered by Goa University. Also, students who have studied French as a third language till S.S.C or have attended French language courses from any language institutes can also apply by uploading a copy of their S.S.C. mark sheet and/or a certificate attesting their level of proficiency in the French language at the time of application form submission.

B.A.(Honours) Portuguese

To apply for Goa University's BA(Honours) Portuguese program, candidates should have a pass mark in 10+2 / H.S.S.C. from a recognized education board in any discipline.

How and where to apply?

The mode of application is online only. Candidates who wish to apply for the B.A. (Honours) French & B.A. (Honours) Portuguese admissions 2021-2022 can submit the online application form available at the official website of Goa University . Candidates need not send a printout of the application form to the university but can keep a printout for future references.

The last date to submit the application form is 31.07.2021, 5 pm.

Application fees and mode of payment

The non-refundable application fee can be submitted online through the GUMS portal. The fee for application is as follows
  • General category candidates: Rs 600/-
  • SC/ST category candidates: Rs 300/-
  • Differently abled candidates: Exempted from fees

You can make the payment using any of the 3 options like Credit Card / Debit Card / Online Banking. Please ensure that a receipt is generated on the GUMS portal only.
  • Credit Card : Here 1.00% of the registration fee plus taxes are applicable. Also, note that you will not receive any SMS/Email from GUMS confirming the payment
  • Debit Card: There won't be any charges for registration fees up to Rs. 2000 and 1.00% + taxes for registration fee more than Rs. 2000
  • NET Banking: Here there will be Rs. 16.00 per transaction for State Bank of India and Rs. 10.00 per transaction for all other banks

Documents to be scanned and uploaded along with application

  • 3.5 x 3.5 cms coloured passport size photograph
  • 2.5 x 2.5 cm with a file size less than 1 MB in JPEG format candidates signature
  • A valid reservation certificate
  • Valid mark lists

How to reach?

Goa University is located at Taleigao Plateau 403206. From Panaji, you can travel by car via MDR3 or Taleigoa rd and MDR3 to reach the destination. It takes only 15 minutes to cover that 6-8 km. If you are traveling from Mapusa by car, drive via NH66 or NH66 and MDR3 to reach the university. In this route, it takes 30-40 minutes to cover that 22kms.
