MPhil Programmes
For Admission to MPhil programmes at the University of Delhi, the candidates must hold MA or MSc degree in the relevant discipline from a recognised University or Institute or College and must have secured at least 55% marks. They must have a good academic record.
For PhD Programmes
For Admission in PhD programmes at the University of Delhi, the candidates must hold an MA or MSc or MPhil or MTech or MD or MS or MPEd (in case of PhD in Physical Education & Sports Sciences) degree in the relevant discipline from a recognised University or Institute or College and must have secured at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA score. They must have a good academic record.Reservation Policy
The candidates belonging to the reserved categories will get 5% relaxation in the minimum marks required in the eligibility criterion for admission to MPhil or PhD Programmes.Delhi University Entrance Test-2021
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Delhi University Entrance Test-2021for admission to entrance based MPhil and PhD programmes. DUET 2021 will be conducted through Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The duration of the entrance examination will be 2 hours. There will be 50 multiple choice questions and each question will be of 4 marks. Negative marking will also be there and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. The medium of paper will be English language only except for Language programmes.
The entrance exam will be conducted in 27 cities. These are Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh/Mohali, Chennai, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi-NCR (including Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad), Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai/Navi Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar (J&K), Thiruvananthapuram and Varanasi.
The candidates must select the examination city carefully as the Examination City Centre, once opted, shall not be changed later. It is also advised that the candidate must name, Date of Birth, Subject group, Gender, and examination centre name on the admit card carefully.
DUET 2021 exam will be followed by an interview. All the candidates need to appear for the interviews. Those candidates who are exempted from the entrance test will have to attend interviews also.
Results of DUET 2021 will be published on the website of NTA (www.nta.ac.in) and the University of Delhi.How to Apply
Desirous candidates seeking admission to MPhil or PhD programmes of the University of Delhi for the academic session 2021-22 must visit the official Website of the University of Delhi and read the 'Information Bulletin' carefully. Candidates must also go through the Ordinances, Rules and Regulations of the University of Delhi available on the University website before filling the application form.
Admission seekers to MPhil or PhD programmes can apply online through online registration on the online portal of Delhi University. After registration, they will have to follow a step-by-step process to fill the application form. First, the candidate must register himself /herself online through "New User Registration". For registration, he/she must have a valid e-mail ID and they will have to furnish personal details, email ID, mobile number, and will create a password of a maximum of six characters. The candidates must ensure that the information filled in the application form is complete and correct before submitting details. Upon successful registration, a confirmation link will be received on the candidates registered email ID. The candidate will have to confirm this link.
To fill the application form, the candidate must re-login using login credentials (username/ e-mail ID/ Mobile number and password/OTP) and complete the application form. In the next step, the candidates will have to choose the category for which they seek to apply i.e. PhD or MPhil or Both. After selection of option of PhD or MPhil, the candidates will have to provide Education details. In the case of the candidates applying for a PhD will have to fill in the details of financial support (scholarship or fellowship) to pursue the programme. If the research proposal is required for the MPhil or PhD programmes, to which the candidate is applying, must provide the details of the research proposal.

Now, the candidate will have to provide last or current employment details (if any). Exam centres choice is to be provided by selecting from the available exam centres listed in the drop-down list.
After filling in the complete information, required documents must also be uploaded in the prescribed formats and save all the information by clicking on the "Save Application" option and check the details filled in the form. If required any changes or modifications in the filled details, candidates can modify details by clicking on the "Edit" option. After filling in all the details, applicants will have to pay the registration fee by clicking on the "Pay Fee" option. Candidates can pay the registration fee through any one of the available online payment options: Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, and UPI. The candidates can apply in the same or separate departments through separate registration forms and by paying the separate registration fee. However, they can use the same login details for all the registration forms.
The candidates must read Ordinance VI: Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of MPhil /PhD Degrees Regulations, 2016 (Annexure –X of Information Bulletin) carefully for eligibility criteria (Clause C, Point 4,5 & 6), for exemption from entrance test (Clause B, Point 2 & 3) and Requirement of Research proposal for MPhil Programme (Annexure-IV of Information Bulletin) and Requirement of Research Proposal for the PhD programme (Annexure-V of Information Bulletin).Registration Fee
