The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), which is an autonomous body of the Government of NCT of Delhi, has issued the notification for online applications for admission to the two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.), and Diploma in Pre-School Education (DPSE) for the academic session 2021-23. Overview
The course curriculum, as well as the certification, is recognized by the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). Those keen on taking up a career in pre-primary or elementary education should not miss this opportunity to acquire quality teacher education. The courses include both theory and practical work at the nine participating Government District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) and 25 self-financing private institutes that is recognized by SCERT(the list of institutes can be checked out at the official SCERT website). 85% of the seats are reserved for those who have passed the Class 12 exam from a school located in the region of the Government of NCT of Delhi, while 15% of the seats are reserved for candidates from any State/Union Territory of India. The category certificates that are to be submitted are mentioned in the official prospectus.
It is important to note that when pursuing both, the D.El.Ed. and the DPSE course, you are not permitted to simultaneously pursue any other course, whether it is a part-time one, a full-time one, or one through distance education. Although both are of two years, you are allowed to complete the course within a maximum period of three years from the date of admission.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, for safety reasons, there will be no prior physical verification of documents, but verification of required certificates will be done at the time of admission. These include the original certificate of Class 10 or its equivalent, mark sheets of Class 10 and Class 12, reserved category certificate if applicable, and medical fitness certificate.About SCERT D.El.Ed. There are 1040 seats in the Government DIETs, and 1900 seats in the self-financing institutes for the two-year full-time Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course. There will be 10 courses each in the first and second year, with theoretical components and projects/assignments as part of the practical work. The three broad categories of the courses of both years include Foundation Courses, Pedagogical Courses, and Practical Courses.About SCERT DPSE Course
There are a total of 1450 seats at the 24 self-financing institutes that are affiliated to SCERT, Delhi for the two-year full-time Diploma in Pre-School Education (DPSE) course. There are eight courses in each of the two years, with both theory and practical components.

Since teaching involves often strenuous work, it is necessary to be physically and mentally fit. Accordingly, it is mandatory to have a medical certificate declaring you to be in good health by a registered medical practitioner with an MBBS qualification (or equivalent degree).
Other requirements are as follows-
Academic criteria: You should have passed the CBSE Senior School Certificate Exam (10+2) or its equivalent exam from any recognized Board/University with a minimum aggregate score of minimum 50% (refer to the official prospectus for details about the calculation of the percentage of marks).
Age criteria: Your maximum age should not be more than 24 years as of 30th September 2021. There is an age relaxation of five years if you are applying under SC/ST/PWD categories, for which you are required to submit the relevant certificate from a competent authority.How to apply
You have to submit the application for admission to both courses in online mode only by first registering with a valid email ID and mobile phone number at the official SCERT admissions portal.
In the online application form, you have to fill in personal details, educational qualifications, and which reserved category if applicable. You are required to scan and upload your signature and photo, each of which should be less than 50KB size. The application fee of Rs.250/- has also to be paid online through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card. Ensure that you fill in your choice of DIET/Self-financing institute (there is a code number for each that you can check in the prospectus). If you fail to select one, your application will be rejected.
Make sure you check that all information has been correctly entered and nothing has been left incomplete, through the preview button and then only make the final submission. After the final submission, take a printout for future reference.Important dates

The prospectus and the link to the online applications will be available from 3rd August 2021, with applications closing on 10th August 2021.
Editing of the online application form can be done on 11th and 12th August 2021 only.
Display of ranks of candidates: 14th August 2021.
Display of the first merit list: 17th August 2021.
Reporting to the allotted institute along with original documents, submission of two sets, the slip of part-admission fee for verification and provisional admission: 17th to 19th August 2021.
Declaration of the second merit list and reporting to institutes with documents: 24th to 25th August 2021.
Declaration of the third merit list and reporting to institutes with documents: 27th to 31st August 2021.
Reporting of all candidates to the institute with original documents and the prescribed fee: 1st to 6th September 2021.
If candidates wish to withdraw their admission they can do so only through online mode through their log-in ID from 7th to 9th September 2021.
Notification regarding admission under Management Quota seats (only for self-financing private affiliated institutes): 1st September 2021.
Commencement of academic session: 30th August 2021.
