CR Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojna Skill Development Training Program for Welders 2021-22

Central Railway (CR) has announced admissions open for a short-term skill development training program called 'Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojna' for youth for the year 2021-22 at its Carriage Workshop in Mumbai. This program is part of the Pradhanmantri Minister's Kaushal Vikas Yojna. Both male and female candidates can apply for the program online or offline by 31st August 2021.

About the Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojna

The entire program is free of cost and you do not have to pay any fees. The duration is for three weeks, and there will be two batches, with each batch limited to 30 trainees. The training program is for the Welder Trade only and will be conducted at the Central Railway Carriage Workshop at Matunga, Mumbai, Maharashtra. You will have to make your arrangements for boarding, lodging, food, and transport. No allowances will be given. You must adhere to all rules and regulations of the training center and be responsible for your health and safety. While the center will take the necessary steps to provide training with safety procedures and have COVID protocols in place, it will not be responsible for any incident.

It is mandatory to have at least 75% attendance and get a minimum of 55% in the written exam and 60% in the practical exam. On completing the training program, you can apply for a job in the trade or start independently on your own, but will not have any claim to employment in the Railways.



Training schedule

First batch: 14th September 2021 to 4th October 2021, Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Second batch: 11th October 2021 to 30th October 2021, Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana Eligibility requirements

Age criteria: You should be between 18 to 35 years of age as of 31st August 2021.

Education Qualification: You should have passed Matriculation (Class 10 exam). The final marks, calculating all the subjects will be considered, and not the best of five criteria.

Medical Fitness: It is necessary to be of sound physical and mental health. It will be required to submit a certificate of medical fitness from a registered M.B.B.S. doctor at the time the documents are verified (refer to details of the certificate below).



How to apply for Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana

Before applying for the training program, ensure that you read the Terms and Conditions, as well as other relevant details, that are stated in the official notification.

You have to submit your application online at the CR Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana website by registering with a valid email ID and mobile phone number.

Another option for application is to download the physical application form from the website (https://cr.indianrailways.gov.in/cris//uploads/files/1628940263924-Application%20Form%20RKVY.pdf) or obtain it from the office of the Senior Personnel Officer (SPO), Matunga Workshop, Mumbai. Fill it up completely, and drop it in the box that is placed on the Ground floor of the CWM's Office, Carriage Workshop, T.H.Kataria Marg, Matunga, Mumbai.

The last date to submit applications online or offline is 31st August 2021, up to 4 p.m.



Selection procedure and verification of documents

The candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks obtained in the Matriculation exam. In the case of CGPA in Class 10, it shall be equated in numbers, by multiplying with 9.5, as per CBSE norms.

Shortlisted candidates will receive an intimation on the mobile number/email that was provided in the application. At the time of verification of documents, you have to produce all the original educational qualification documents, as also self-attested photocopies of the same. The documents required are as follows-
Age proof: The mark sheet of Matriculation. Note that if the date of birth (DOB) is not mentioned in your matriculation mark sheet, then you can show the birth certificate as well.

Identity proof: You can submit any one of these valid photo IDs – (i) Aadhar Card; (ii) Voter ID Card; (iii) Driving License; or (iv) Ration Card.

Certificate of Medical Fitness: The certificate from a qualified M.B.B.S. Doctor must clearly state that you are fit to undergo training in an industrial environment, are fit for visual/hearing/mental conditions and are not suffering from any communicable diseases.

Affidavit: The format for this is available on the official website or obtain a hard copy that can be collected from the office of the SPO Matunga Workshop, T.H.Kataria Marg, Matunga, Mumbai.
