The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Gurukula Kangi (Deemed to be University), Haridwar offers four years' regular course in Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in following streams in four streams. The candidates who already have a diploma or bachelor degree in Science can apply for direct admission in B.Tech 2nd year through lateral entry. Currently, Gurukula Kangri has invited applications from the eligible candidates for admission in B.Tech 2nd year (Lateral Entry) for the session 2021-22.

Courses Offered


Course Fee

The candidate who will get admission in BTech 2nd year will have to deposit Rs.92050/ as an annual fee through challan. Challan number will be provided after confirmation of admission. The course fee is to be paid through online mode only.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Only male candidates can apply.
  2. The candidates who wish to get admission in BTech 2nd year must have passed the Diploma in Engineering in the relevant branch with a minimum of 45% marks.
    or
    A candidate must have passed the Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with Mathematics subject and with a minimum of 45% marks.




Facilities available for BTech Students

Hostel Facility: Hostel facility is available on the main campus of Gurukula Kangri for BTech 1st year students only against limited seats on a paid basis. The candidates will have to pay hostel charges at the time of joining the Hostel. Details of hostel fee are as follows:
  • For General Category Candidates: Rs.17000/-
  • For SC/ST Category Candidates: Rs13000/-
  • Security Fee (Refundable): Rs.5000/-

Transport Facility: Bus facility is also available for the students who will avail of the hostel facility. They will have to pay a fee of RS.4000/- annually.

Mess Facility: Mess facility is also available and students can avail of the mess facility by paying a mess fee of Rs.23000/-(Approximate) annually.

Admission Procedure

The candidates must visit the official website of Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University), Haridwar and will have to fill an application form that can be filled and submitted in the following ways:

For admission in BTech 2nd year, an application is to be filled online by visiting the official website of the university (www.gkv.ac.in) and filled-in registration form along with a required fee of Rs.300/- (online transfer receipt) is to be emailed to: admissions.fet@gkv.ac.in.

OR

For Direct Admission to BTech 2nd year (lateral entry), an application form can be downloaded from the university's website and a filled-in form accompanied with a Demand Draft of Rs.800/- (in favour of "Registrar, Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar," payable at Haridwar) must be sent through email on: admissions.fet@gkv.ac.in.

Admission to BTech 2nd year will be made based on merit. Merit list will be displayed at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Registrar Office and Official Website of the University.

Required Documents

For direct admission to BTech 2nd year (Lateral entry), the candidates are required to bring the following documents at the time of counselling:
  • High School Mark sheet
  • High School Certificate
  • 10+2 Mark sheet
  • 10+2 Certificate
  • BSc or Diploma Mark sheet & Certificate
  • Migration & TC from the institution last attended
  • Character certificate issued from the last institution
  • Reservation category certificate, if applicable
The candidates must submit the following documents at the time of seat allotment:
  • Latest photograph-8 nos.
  • 4 sets photocopies of all the documents such as High School Mark sheet & Certificate, 10+2 Mark sheet & Certificate and BSc/Diploma Mark sheet & Certificate.

Counselling Fee

Apart from this, the candidates will have to pay a counselling fee of Rs.1000/-. The counselling fee is to be paid online and is non-refundable and non-adjustable. Challan number for fee submission will be provided at the time of merit list declaration.

What is the intake capacity of each of the B.Tech. courses?
There are total 115 number of seats are in each branch.
Is there any reservation for reserved category students?
Yes. Reservation is there as per Government of India norms. There will be 27% reservation for OBC, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 10% for EWS category and 5% vertical reservation for PWD (differently abled person).
Is there any other special quota of seats?
Yes. Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) category seats for J&K students is there, which is directly filled by AICTE. It includes 4 seats in Computer Science & Engineering and 2 seats each in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
Does the institute give any fee relaxation to EWS students?
No fee relaxation is given to EWS. Only the hostel fee for SC and ST candidates is reduced.
Is there any provision for scholarships?
Yes. The scholarship is provided by State Government. Eligible students can apply for that. For this purpose, a Scholarship Cell is also there on the campus.
