DAIS admissions 2022 Eligibility Requirements

Parents must ensure that the following eligibility criteria are fulfilled before applying for admission to the school-
For admission to LKG class: The child should be born between 1st January 2018 and 31st December 2018 (both days inclusive).

For admission to Class VIII admission (both ICSE and IGCSE): The student should have successfully completed Class VII and should have been promoted to Class VIII from a recognized school, before joining Dhirubhai Ambani International School.

For admission to Class XI IB Diploma: The student should have successfully completed Class X from a recognized Secondary Education Board before joining DAIS.



Information sessions for parents

Other than for LKG, prior to applying for admission to the school, parents who have registered on the online admission portal will be invited to attend information sessions. These sessions will be held online only. The schedule is as follows-
For ICSE Class VIII: 24th September 2021 (Friday) from 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
For IGCSE Class VIII: 24th September 2021 (Friday) from4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
For IBDP Class XI: 23rd September 2021 (Thursday) 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Online application procedure for DAIS admission 2022-23

Parents should register and submit applications for admission online (ideally with a desktop/laptop) at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School admissions website. They can use the same login ID to fill up an application for siblings. The registration fee is Rs.5000/-, likely with an additional convenience charge by the Payment gateway. In case parents face any technical errors and see a message of time out or a message of an error on the screen during the online payment, they must immediately inform the DAIS Admissions Office and get further guidance. No e-signature is required in the online application form. It is sufficient to tick the checkbox for the declaration. The signatures of the parents or guardians, as the case may be, will be taken at a later stage.

For admission to Class VIII, the student can apply either for ICSE or for IGCSE, but once the online application form for admission is submitted, the student cannot change the stream selected.

List of documents for online application

The following documents should be scanned for uploading during the online application process-
For admission to LKG class: (i) A self-attested copy of the child's birth certificate. (ii) The school reports for the academic year 2020-21 as well as for the current academic year (2021-22), if available.

For admission to Class VIII: (i) A self-attested copy of the child's birth certificate. (ii) Self-attested copies of school reports of the last three academic years as well as of the current academic year (2021-22). (iii) A Personal Statement to be written by the student. This should be on a separate sheet, not more than 500 words, mentioning the student's areas of interests and achievements and stating in what way studying at DAIS would help to achieve his/her goals and aspirations. (iv) All relevant self-attested documents of academic, co-curricular, and sports achievements, if any.

For admission to IDBP Class XI: (i) A self-attested copy of the student's birth certificate. (ii) Self-attested copies of school reports of the last three academic years as well as of the current academic year (2021-22). (iii) A self-attested copy of the certificate/report card/document which is evidence of having successfully completed Class X. (iv) Self-attested documents pertaining to achievements in academics or sports or co-curricular activities. (v) A Personal Statement to be written by the student of not more than 500 words, stating the student's academic interests, interests in co-curricular activities, and achievements, and in what way studying at DAIS would help to achieve his/her goals and aspirations while contributing to the life of the schools and broader community.

Format for documents: Each file should not exceed 5 MB and must be uploaded only in PDF, JPG, or JPEG formats. Also, every page of the document must be self-attested by any one parent or guardian. In the case of photos, wherever these have to be uploaded, the photo must be a recent colour passport photo with a blue or white or red background in PNG, JPG, or JPEG format, and should be of size 5.5 cm x 4.5 cm. It should clearly show the face with a front view (the eyes should not be closed and the head should be in the frame) and the file size should not exceed 5 MB.

Closing date for submission of online applications for admission is 30th September 2021.



Procedures after the online application

For students fulfilling the eligibility criterion for admission to Lower Kindergarten (LKG), parents will be intimated via email about what are the further procedures.

For Class VIII, if you fulfil the eligibility criteria, you have to appear for an Aptitude Test, scheduled for 16th October 2021. If you are shortlisted after this test, then you will be invited for an interactive session. Both, the test, and the interactive session will be held online and details of these will be sent to the applicants via email and to the registered mobile number.

For Class XI IB Diploma Programme, if you fulfill the eligibility criteria, you have to appear for admissions tests that will include written tests with multiple-choice questions, and questions requiring descriptive responses. The tests are- The first admissions test is a multiple-choice type for the duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes, with questions related to Logical Reasoning, Mathematics, and English Language. Only those who are shortlisted from this test will then have to appear for the second stage of the test. This test is scheduled for 9th October 2021. The second admissions test is a descriptive written test for the duration of three hours. The subjects for this test are English, Mathematics, and an Elective Paper (that is, Social Studies or Science). This test is scheduled for 13th November 2021. Parents should check the school website for regular updates, if any, of the test dates.

If you are shortlisted after the second test, you will be invited for an interactive session at the school in the second week of December 2021 (any changes in this schedule based on the pandemic situation, will be intimated to the parents).



Academic schedule for 2022-23

The academic session of 2022-23 for students of Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai is as follows -
For students of LKG to Class VII: 23rd March 2022.
For students of Classes VIII - ICSE: 18th April 2022.
For students of Classes IX and X - ICSE: 23rd March 2022.
For students of Class VIII - IGCSE: 25th April 2022.
For students of Classes IX & X - IGCSE: 27th July 2022.
For students of Classes XI & XII – IBDP: 27th July 2022.

At Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai the academic classes from LKG to VII and ICSE Classes VIII to X are from the month March of the current year to the month of March of the following year. Students of the IGCSE Class VIII to Class X as well as those of the IB Diploma Programme (Classes XI & XII) will have academic classes from the month of July of the current year to the month of June of the following year. However, the ICSE Class VIII will begin from the fourth week of April. As for the summer break, for everyone, it will be from the second week of June to the fourth week of July. There will also be a break for the festival of Diwali for approximately 10 days and for Christmas for approximately a fortnight.
