If we look at the infrastructure, National Law University Delhi has a World-class infrastructure. Large classrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with modern and advanced facilities like smart boards, projectors, and wi-fi for the convenience of the students and teachers. An online attendance system is used for attendance. The whole campus is wi-fi enabled. Excellent academics-related facilities are available at NLUD. The library of NLUD, also known as Justice TPS Chawla Library, is one of the best libraries in the region. It was inaugurated in 2010 by Hon'ble Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Mr. Deepak Misra. It is a 2-story building having a huge collection of books i.e. more than 37,500 books, 180 current subscripts to various national and international journals, newspapers, thesis, dissertations, project documents, micro-documents, and 250 CDs and DVDs. A separate reading room is also available in the library which is used for sitting and reading the books. Students have also access to hundreds of online databases of national and international spheres like Westlaw International, LexisNexis Academic, EHart books, authoritative legal books, novels, etc.
For the practice of students, NLUD has provided moot court halls. Here students practice moot court activities, benchmark rounds and intra-university challengers. Training sessions on oral arguments, drafting briefs, research works are also provided by renowned judges, lawyers, and guest faculty members.
The Computer Centre of National Law University, Delhi has more than 50 high-tech desktops to support students. All these systems are provided with updated software and applications and equipped with optical devices. Internet facilities are also attached to each system. Laptops facilities are also available at the computer center. The internet center also has several legal research databases like Manupatra, LexisNexis, Westlaw etc. An advanced well-furnished and well-equipped auditorium with State of the art audio and video facilities is also available in the NLUD. NLUD has also developed healthcare facilities on the campus for students and staff. Placements at NLUD are very good. After completing their studies, students get good placements in higher companies and well-known law firms at higher salary packages. In 2019-20, out of 80 students of UG classes, 45 students got placements and 26 students were selected for higher studies while in PG classes, out of 79 students, 8 students got placements and 8 were selected for higher studies. Jamila Millia Islamia University is a Central University formed by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. JMI campus is located in Okhla, New Delhi and spread over an area of 215 acres. The campus is one of the biggest campuses in Delhi. Institute is NAAC accredited (Grade 'A'). The infrastructure of the Jamia Milia Islamia is very vast and beautiful. Classrooms are very spacious and equipped with projectors for lectures. Enough seating space is available in each class. A huge library with large numbers of books including some of the rarest books, national and international journals, etc. is also available on the premises. A separate computer center is also available for use of students. The campus is wi-fi enabled for the ease of the students so that they can use the internet facility anytime and anywhere on the campus. A very limited hostel facility is available at Jamia Milia Islamia which is made available to the students based on their merit with admission criteria. However, students can get suitable accommodation in the nearby areas of the university. Separate hostels for girls and boys are available. Hostels of JMI are also wi-fi enabled. Gym, mess, and dining halls are also available in hostels. A cafeteria is available at the campus. A canteen facility is also available which provide delicious food at cheaper rates. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) was the first university founded by the Government of NCT of Delhi in 1998 and it got recognition by University Grants Commission (UGC) in 1999. The University is 'A' Grade accreditation by NAAC. It belongs to the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). The GGSIPU is a teaching cum affiliating university and currently, 100 institutes are affiliated with it. Out of these, 76 are running under the self-financed category. With regards to the infrastructure facilities, the GGSIPU campus is the largest university campus in Delhi spread over an area of 90 acres and consists of academic blocks, a sports complex, libraries, and hostels. It has large and spacious and airy classrooms. Some of them are centrally air-conditioned also. The classrooms are equipped with projects and display screens. The whole campus is wi-fi enabled so that students can access the internet facility anywhere. Institute provides scholarships to the students who score more than 90% in final exams. Besides, loan facilities are available for students.
Campus life is amazing at GGSIPU. Seniors are also helpful to their juniors in clearing their doubts. Several kinds of extracurricular activities such as debate competitions are held at University which help the student to develop mental strength and willpower. They organize various events such as annual day function, sports meet, inter-college sports meet, alumni meet, cultural programs, teacher's day celebration, Diwali celebration, Holi celebration, Christmas and new year celebration, etc.
There are two libraries at GGSIPU. One is the University Library or University Information Resource Centre (UIRC) and another is Law Library for law students. UIRC has a good collection of reference sources viz. Encyclopedia Britannica, Kirk Othmer Encyclopaedia of Chemical Technology etc. It also has a good collection of print and non-print documents, e-books, e-journals and subscription of online databases and e-resources. Sports facilities are also available for students which enables their complete development. The sports facilities include a large multi-purpose field, tennis courts, basketball courts, and an indoor badminton court, etc. A swimming pool is also there on the campus.
The hostel facilities available at GGSIPU are also very good. It can accommodate approximately 700 students. Rooms in the hostel are of single occupancy with neat and clean toilets and bathrooms. A hygienic mess facility is also there for hostellers, provide tasty food.
Faculty members, at GGSIPU, are brilliant, well qualified, knowledgeable, and are experts in their field. They use innovative teaching methods to teach students in classroom teaching. The institute has world-class infrastructure facilities. The institute building is very big and spread over an area of 38 acres. It has 12 academic blocks. The ambiance of the campus is just breathtaking and anyone can fall in love with it. Campus life is very organized and professional because postgraduate courses are only there. Smoking is strictly prohibited and ragging or discrimination based on race gender or colour is strictly banned and is considered a crime and punishable offence.
Extracurricular activities are organized regularly every two weeks by the student council. Training workshops and guest lectures are also organized at the campus. Lectures are delivered by reputed personalities and renowned lawyers. Established in 1956, the Institute's Library is one of the top law libraries in Asia and famous for legal research. Many researchers from all over the world visit library for legal research. Hon'ble Judges, Attorney General of India, Solicitor General of India, Senior Advocates, Professors, and the Director, ILI make up the library committee. The committee formulates policies. A hostel facility is not available on the campus. Therefore, students have to live outside the campus in some PGs or nearby rented apartments. The course curriculum is well structured and designed in such a way that it provides deeper knowledge of the subject. More focus is on knowledge and research skills development which helps in student's overall development.
The students' council organizes events and festival celebrations and every student love to take part in these fests and showcase their talents. Apart from these, various seminars, conferences, guest lectures and workshops are organised at ILI. Seminars for students are conducted every Wednesday at ILI by the student council. ILI also have collaboration with international institutes and student exchange programme. Students bonding is also strong and seniors are very helpful for their juniors. NLUD also shows best performance in terms of Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR) which depicts the numbers and quality of faculty, library and lab resources and general facilities (87.68), Research & Professional Practice (RPC) is a measure of quantity and quality of research (42.81) and Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) represents women and socially challenged persons as well as outreach activities (74.16) among all four institutes. While Jamia Millia Islamia performed best in Graduation Outcomes (GO) i.e. 73.52 it shows student graduation rate and success in finding appropriate placements or in taking up higher studies.
