Raghavendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (RIPER) is having a good track record of its performance and obtained 55th rank in the latest ranks released by NIRF. Raghavendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (RIPER) is established in the year 2002. The college is situated in the Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. It is a private college and affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur. It is an autonomous college as of date.
This institute is commonly known as RIPER, Anantapur and is very famous for its undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses. The courses of this institute are approved by AICTE and PCI. The college was accredited by AAAC with B Grade. The whole campus is situated in about 12 acres of land with a very good ambience. The college is having very well-designed and maintained classrooms. The whole campus is WIFI enabled. The institute gives thrust on educating the students and makes them ready to take up works in various industries and laboratories. The institute concentrates more on imparting skills that are required for students to take up jobs in various pharmaceutical industries and laboratories. There are buses for day scholars to commute to the college. The institute believes that sports are also good for the overall development of the students and all the students are encouraged to participate in sports and cultural activities. There is a very well maintained ground in the college area. The college is situated in a rural area near Anantapur and the water resources are very little. Hence the college adopts various water conservation measures like rainwater harvesting, borewell recharge, wastewater purification and recycling etc. A RO plant is erected on the campus and water will be supplied through a pipeline.NIRF Rank:
The college is having a good track record and during the last five years, the rank obtained by this institute is below 100. The college ranked 55 in 2020 as well as in 2021. This is the top college among the various private Phrammacy colleges that are situated in the State of Andhra Pradesh based on NIRF rankings. If we examine the various ratios in the above rating given by NIFR, the scores obtained in some areas are very attractive. Faculty- Student ratio (FSR) is 30/30 and Student Strength (SS) is 15.73/20. The placement and higher studies ratio (GPH) is 34.3/40. These figures indicate that the institute is giving importance to have able faculty and maintaining education standards and meeting the training needs of the students which are enabling the students to get absorbed in good positions in academic institutions and industry.Placement Record:

Research:
The college is having a special research centre that is functioning as a private non-profit organization, recognized as a scientific and industrial organisation (SIRO) by DSIR in the year 2018. Students from RIPER will be trained in this research centre so that the students will have hands-on experience and be ready to cater to the needs of the industry. There is a good number of publications in journals of repute that are resulted from the work carried out in this centre.Courses Offered:
This is a two-year diploma course. This course deals with fundamental knowledge regarding various related subjects like biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, anatomy and physiology. How to handle drugs while dispersing and distributing them also will be taught in this course. The eligibility criteria are a pass in intermediate or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics.
The program duration is 2 years (4 Semesters). The curricula and syllabi for the course are as prescribed from time to time by the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi. The candidate who completed the B. Pharm Degree examination from any recognised Indian university and who scored a minimum of 55 % marks are eligible for admission.
This is a 6 years program. Out of these 6 years, 5 years are dedicated to academic sessions and the sixth year is completely allotted to an internship in a hospital. This course is approved by the government of India in the year 2008 and PCI is the apex body controlling the syllabus. The course is designed to prepare the pharmacists in such a way that they can play an important role in patient care as members of the health care team. Students who passed intermediate are equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with a minimum of 55% are eligible to get into this course.
This course is of 3 years duration. 2 years of classroom study and a one-year internship. During the internship, the students are trained in pharmacy practice or clinical pharmacy services. This training will enable them to function independently.
Candidates who have completed B. Pharm from institutes recognized by PCI with at least 50% aggregate marks in graduation can apply for this course.
Students who passed M. Pharm with a minimum of 50% can apply for this course. The admission will be based on the entrance test conducted by JNTU Anantapur and the number of seats will also be decided by JNTU every year. Students who are qualified for fellowship in the NET examination can also apply for their Ph.D. in this college.Contact details:
