IIM Ahmedabad PhD program admissions 2021-2022

IIM Ahmedabad has released an official notification and invited applications from the eligible candidates for admission in PhD programme session 2021-22. About IIM Ahmedabad

IIM Ahmedabad is a public business school located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was established in 1961. The school got the status of an Institute of National Importance by the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India in 2017. Its motto is Progress Through the Application of Knowledge. It offers three to four years of full-time Ph.D. across 11 areas of specialization. Currently, the institute has invited applications from eligible and highly motivated candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program for the session 2021-22.

Eligiblity criteria

Candidate should have master's Degree in any discipline, with at least 55 percent marks, and a Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification with at least 50 percent marks (minimum three years of bachelor's level education after the completion of higher secondary schooling). A professional qualification (completed) such as CA (ICAI), ICWA, CS with a Bachelor's degree can also apply.

Candidate should have passed 4-year/8-semester Bachelor's degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent.

Candidate should have a valid score in the Common Admission Test.

How to apply

The candidates who wish to join the PhD program must visit the IIM Ahmedabad official website and read instructions carefully before applying. Before starting the application procedure, read the information brochure carefully that is available on the IIM website. Application Form and Brochure will be available online and each candidate is eligible to apply for a maximum of two Areas of the high level of specialization.

For registration, candidates need to provide their full name, date of birth, email address, mobile number. After registration, the candidate must log in using login credentials to fill the online application form and upload the required documents. After filling the application form, the candidate must pay the application fee online. The application fee is Rs. 500/- to be paid through IIMA Gateway. Submit the form and take a printout for future reference. The application fee is non-refundable and will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection procedure

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the CAT exam or a standard test instead of CAT, academic background, and experience. Shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interviews. For NRIs and Foreign students, this standard test is the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). Those candidates who have Scored of CAT 2019, 2020, and 2021would be eligible for application to the Ph.D. Program in 2022. Areas of high levels of specialization of IIMA specify different standardized tests that candidates applying to the Ph.D. Programs in their areas can take instead of CAT.
