Indian Maritime University is a popular central university (An ISO- 9001: 2015 Certified Institute) functioning under India Government. IMU Mumbai Port Campus consists of Marine Engineering and Research Institute (MERI), Mumbai and Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Advanced Maritime Studies and Research . Indian Maritime University, also known as IMU is inviting applications from candidates who are interested to join the PGDME (Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Engineering) program at its Mumbai Port Campus for the year 2021-2022. This is a one-year academic program that consists of two semesters. The admission to this program will be made for two categories namely Sponsored & Non-sponsored candidates. The total fee for an academic year will be Rs.3,60,000/-. The details are given below.
Age criteria
For male candidates, the maximum age in years for the following categories will be General-28, OBC(NCL)-31, SC/ST-33. But for female candidates, it will be like General-30 years, OBC(NCL)-33 years, and SC/ST-35 years.
Eligibility
Candidates with at least 50% marks in final year BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture from a recognized University/AICTE approved Institute/IIT with a minimum of 50% marks in the English language at 10th or 12th or in Degree Exam.
OR
Candidates with at least 50% marks in a final year full-time BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering Streams (Mechanical and Automation, Mechanical and Electronics, Mechanical and Automobile) with a minimum of 50% marks in the English language at 10th or 12th or in Degree Exam
OR
Candidates with at least 50% marks in final year degree in all Naval Architecture streams(Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, and Ship Building) with minimum 50% marks in the English language at 10th or 12th or in Degree Exam
In the case of SC/ST candidates, there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks but it won't apply to English Marks. The 5% relaxation in English marks will apply to candidates who are born in and are native of the Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and belong to their Scheduled Tribes, and whose both parents were born in those Islands & belong to the Scheduled Tribes of those islands
Also, all candidates who qualify will have to submit a Physical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner at the time of Certificate Verification
Application forms, processing/registration fees, and selection process
Candidates can get the application form and details of the selection process from the link given below. The forms must be filled in typed, on A4 size paper (white) and signed by the applicant.
Sponsored candidates: Here candidates are required to submit DD or NEFT/IMPS transfer details of Rs.1,000/- (application processing fees) & Rs. 10,000/- (Non-refundable registration fee) drawn in favour of "Indian Maritime University – Mumbai Port Campus" payable at Mumbai. This demand draft should be submitted on or before the last date along with the application
Non-Sponsored candidates: Candidates are required to submit demand draft or NEFT / IMPS transfer details of Rs.1,000/- (application processing fees) drawn in favour of "Indian Maritime University – Mumbai Port Campus" payable at Mumbai, and to be submitted on or before the last date mentioned below along with the application. Non-Sponsored candidates should pay the non-refundable registration fees only after selection for confirmation of their seat. The candidate's admission will be processed only on receipt of this DD and they will be considered for admission to the Institute subject to fulfilling the required conditions

How to reach the IMU Mumbai port campus?
IMU Mumbai port campus is located at Tank Rd, hay Bunder, Sewri, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400033, India. From Mumbai railway station, you can travel by car via Sant Savata Mali Marg or via Hay Bunder Rd/Tank Rd It will take only 15-16 minutes to cover that 5-6 km.
