Naval Ship Repair Yard, Aircraft Repair Yard ITI Apprenticeship Training Programs 2021


There are fresh opportunities for ITI qualified candidates to enrol for apprenticeship training at the Naval Ship Repair Yard, Karwar and at the Naval Aircraft Yard in Goa. This article provides complete details of the eligibility conditions and application procedure.

The Dockyard Apprenticeship School, Karwar has issued a notification for Apprenticeship Training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 from Indian citizens with the requisite ITI Trade qualifications.

Overview

Both male and female candidates are welcome to apply. The apprenticeship training is open for 150 candidates at the Naval Ship Repair Yard in Karwar, Karnataka and 23 candidates at the Naval Aircraft Yard in Dabolim, Goa. Candidates should not have previously undergone or are currently undergoing any apprenticeship training under the 1961 Apprenticeship Act in any Govt. organization or the Public Sector sector or a Private Industrial organization. Such candidates will not be accepted for the apprenticeship training.



Eligibility requirements

Age criteria

Candidates should have completed 14 years and should be below 21 years of age as of 1st April 2022, that is, born between 1st April 2001 and 31st March 2008 (both dates inclusive). There is a relaxation of five years for the upper age limit of 21 years for candidates applying in the SC and ST categories. There may be a further relaxation by two years as determined by the Naval Headquarters for candidates who merit special consideration.

Educational qualification

You should have scored above 50% marks in Matriculation or an equivalent exam. Secondly, you should have scored above 65% marks in the relevant ITI Trade recognized by the National/State Council for Vocational Training (NCVT/SCVT).

Physical standards

  1. Height: 150cms.
  2. Weight: not less than 45kgs.
  3. Chest expansion: not less than 5cms.
  4. Eyesight: 6/6 to 6/9 (6/9 corrected with glasses).
  5. Other requirements- the ears should be clear of wax, and external and internal organs should be normal as per the requirements of the 1961 Apprenticeship Act.


Application procedure

Interested candidates should first register online at the Apprenticeship India Govt. portal. Once you have completed the online registration process, you must forward the 'Apprentice Profile' along with the required documents by Speed Post or Registered Post to-

Documents to be sent with the application are-
  1. Attested copy of the Matriculation/10th Class mark sheet.
  2. Attested copy of ITI semester-wise mark sheet and all semester mark sheets
  3. Attested copy of category certificate for EWS, OBC, SC, ST candidates as applicable.
  4. Attested copy of the Disability certificate for PwD candidates. Learn how to get a Unique Disability Identity (UDID) Card
  5. Certificate from the competent authority if a candidate is the son or daughter of Armed Forces personnel/Naval Defence civilian employee.
  6. Certificate of undertaking stating the choice of establishment for undergoing apprenticeship training, that is, Naval Ship Repair Yard, Karwar or Naval Aircraft Yard, Dabolim, Goa.


The last date of the receipt of applications for the apprenticeship training program is within 30 days of the date of publication of the advertisement in the Employment News.

The trading activities in the global business environment are increasing day by day.
